Three Peaks Fell Race

The Three Peaks Fell Race is a historic running event held in the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Established in 1954, it is recognized as one of the oldest fell races in Britain. The course takes place within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and crosses three major peaks: Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough, and Whernside.

Participants navigate through rugged terrain across a total distance of 24 miles. The route reaches an elevation of 2,500 feet above sea level. The event is managed by the Three Peaks Race Association and adheres to a specific route through the mountains of the Yorkshire Dales.

Detailed records for the course are documented for both men and women. The current male course record stands at 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 28 seconds, set in 2023. The female record is 3 hours, 34 minutes, and 36 seconds, established during the 2024 edition of the race.

The event offers varied entry fees for members of the Fell Runners Association (FRA) and non-members. In addition to the main individual race, a relay option is also associated with the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
