Bluebell Bash at Temple Newsam
Bluebell Bash is a trail running event organised by Its Grim Up North Running at Temple Newsam House, Leeds. The estate includes walking and running trails, a farm, a cafe and a shop, and the route passes through gardens and woodland across the grounds.
The course mixes open country, garden and woodland. Surfaces include path, grass and trail and the route is undulating. Races are licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. The event includes well stocked drinks and feed stations approximately every three miles and a cup-less approach, so runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle.
The event provides clear signage and marshals on course. Toilets are available near the start, finish and registration area. There is a parking charge set by Leeds City Council. Public transport options include various buses to Temple Newsam and the nearest train station is Leeds City Station. Car sharing is suggested as an option.
GPX files for the routes are available for download. Large over-ear headphones are banned; bone conduction or single in-ear use is allowed. If a runner withdraws they should inform the nearest marshal; in some circumstances runners may drop to a shorter distance. Transfers or deferrals can be made up to 48 hours before the event.
