SilverBackTrails Goathland V Trig Ultra is scheduled for 18 April 2026 and starts and finishes at Goathland Village Hall in The North York Moors National Park. The course is approximately 37 miles long and visits five listed Triangulation Pillars. The event is open to individuals or pairs and is limited to a maximum of 65 participants. Entry fees are £30 for solo entries and £60 per pair. Entries open 22 April 2025 and close 16 April 2026.

Route, support and rules

Participants navigate their own route using public rights of way and must visit checkpoints in the order given before the event. Three checkpoint locations will provide snacks and drinks; one checkpoint location is withheld until on course and will include an item that must be returned to the finish. The event is self-supported: no support crews or support runners/walkers are allowed. Pairs and solos must visit every checkpoint and complete the full course within a 15-hour time limit. Registration takes place at Goathland Village Hall and there is a mass start.

All finishers receive a certificate, a memento and a cloth badge. A hot meal with vegetarian and gluten-free options will be provided at the end. Organisers require a specified minimum kit and may carry out spot checks. Participants under 18 may take part only as a pair accompanied by an adult. Take on the rugged North York Moors at Hardmoors 26.2 Goathland, a scenic but demanding 27.5 mile trail marathon. Expect big climbs, unmarked routes requiring map reading, and coastal views in a friendly series atmosphere.

Take on winter trails through Dalby Forest with 10km, half marathon and marathon options that wind through towering trees and moorland. Canicross friendly, with a bespoke medal, post race snacks and a welcoming atmosphere.

Hardmoors 15 is a scenic 18 mile circular trail starting and finishing in Robin Hood's Bay, weaving coastal paths and moorland for a true northern challenge. Limited entry and a medal plus tech tee await finishers.

A bracing winter coastal trail on the Cleveland Way, about 30 miles with roughly 3,400 ft of ascent, based at Fylingdales Village Hall. Limited to 200 runners with an 11 hour cutoff, this coastal route is a rewarding winter endurance test.

Scarborough Rock offers scenic 26 and 16 mile coastal and moorland routes from Scalby Parish Hall, passing Oliver's Mount. Popular LDWA event with checkpoints, food and a finishers meal; currently full with a waiting list.
