Run for Wildlife Spring 10k

Run for Wildlife Spring 10k takes place at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Sunday 25 April 2027. The event is organised by Curly's Athletes in collaboration with the Yorkshire Wildlife Park team and uses Hurst Lane, Auckley, Doncaster DN9 3HQ as its location.

The distance is a single 10 km loop that moves through the park and surrounding grounds. The route uses mixed surfaces: roads, park paths, a short section of trail and some grass. Road running shoes are described as appropriate for the course. The event is run on a UK Athletics licensed course.

Each edition has an animal theme; past themes for the 10k have included Tapirs, Lions and Rhinos. Runners pass sections of the park where animals can be seen, including lions, rhinos, giraffes, baboons and tapirs. Entry tickets include access to the park after the run.

Trail runs nearby

A 24 hour relay at Bramham Park in Leeds offering Solo, Pair and team entries on an 8km trail lap. The event includes camping, an Event Village with food vendors and a bar, plus charity entry options.

A summer trail event at the Coal Aston Gala with a 4.7 mile race and a 1.4 mile family run for under 16s. The route follows public rights of way through farmland and woodland and includes a small ford crossing.

A 10 km (6 miles) fell race around Great Hucklow that crosses the Dark Peak and White Peak, run over varied upland terrain. The event is organised by local volunteers and finishers receive a flapjack at the finish.

A pre-entry fell race in Hathersage with a 7.3 km course and 325 m climb across Whim Plantation, Over Owler Tor and Higger Tor. Event runs under FRA rules, uses electronic timing, and has limited parking and a strict no dogs policy.
