Yorkshire Weekend Saunter Series in Leeds
Runners start from Leeds City Centre at Granary Wharf and follow the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath on a flat out and back route through Kirkstall and beyond. The course follows a traffic free canal side path with long canal views and predominantly good trail or towpath underfoot. Aid stations are positioned regularly along the course and the event is fully marshalled.
Included for participants are flat elevation, trail terrain, feed and drink stations approximately every 3 miles, a bespoke finisher medal and finish line treats. All races are licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules.
Registration and race bib collection take place on the day at a registration point close to the canal alongside toilet facilities. The nearest rail access is Leeds Station, with the start located behind the station. There is no parking at the start and finish area; several city centre car parks are within walking distance and car sharing is recommended.
The event operates cup less feed stations to reduce waste; runners are asked to use a reusable bottle or cup. Large over ear headphones are not permitted for safety reasons, though bone conduction or single ear use is allowed. There may be unmarshalled road crossings. Transfers and deferrals are managed through the organiser and deferrals are permitted only up to seven days before the event. If a runner needs to retire or requires assistance they should inform the nearest marshal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
