Trail Running calendar near Philiphaugh 2026-2027

A Backyard Ultra at West Benridge Farm where runners complete a 4.167 mile loop each hour until only one runner completes a solo lap.

A trail running festival in Keswick on 10 April 2027 with two routes, 53k and 23k, across classic Lake District terrain. The event is TRA licensed and includes live ultra tracking, chip timing, photos and a themed medal.

A figure of eight mountain route from Askham in the Lake District of roughly 40 miles, taking in Helvellyn, High Street and Place Fell with required mountain kit.

Final event of Lakeland Paws Season 5 at Whinlatter with two marked trail options including an 8K summit route to Seat How; chip timed and season prizes awarded.

A 90K UTMB Index 100K ultra along the historic Pilgrim Way from North Queensferry to St Andrews Cathedral. The fully marked route crosses towns such as Dunfermline and Ceres, includes 1,200 m of ascent and GPS tracking.

Half marathon and 10K through Whinlatter Forest on 2 May 2027, with live chip timing, Canicross friendly entries and scenic views across Keswick and Skiddaw.

An evening trail event at Gibside National Trust across wooded and garden landscape with 5km and 10km options, live chip timing, Canicross welcome, finishers' medal and onsite parking.

A 47 miles (75K) fully waymarked ultra around Lake Windermere open to runners and walkers, with GPS tracking, six feed stations and a bag drop at Troutbeck. Competitors must carry mandatory kit and complete the route within 24 hours.

A 14.5 km fell race on 8 May 2027 from Rydal Hall, Ambleside, with 914 m ascent. Entrants need fell-racing experience and map-and-compass navigation; the route is only partly flagged and has five checkpoints.

A supported 37 mile mountain trail along the Pennine Way from Teesdale to Alston, passing High Cup Nick, Crossfell and several staffed checkpoints.

A 5 km obstacle event at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy, on 9 May 2027. The grass-start course loops through parkland with steep hills and obstacles; participants must be 13 or older and a minimum fundraising target applies.

Three mixed terrain distances around Derwent Reservoir in May, including a closed road 10 mile lap; canicross is allowed on the 5 km and 5 mile routes.

A multi sport outdoor festival in Keswick from 21 to 23 May 2027 featuring swim, bike, run, hike, triathlon and adventure races, with loch water safety, onsite medical cover and sustainability measures such as no single use cups.

A long May fell race of about 37 miles and 10,000 feet of ascent, visiting Helvellyn, Scafell Pike and Coniston before returning to Great Langdale. The race began in 1988 after a 1987 test year.

Trail races around Hulne Park near Alnwick Castle with 5k, 10k, half marathon and junior 2k options, chip timing and finisher medals. Entries are limited and the event is hosted by Northumberland Estate.

Three trail races on the Ullswater Way in Cumbria on 23 May 2027, with distances of 10, 21.5 and 33.5 miles and HQ at Jenkins Field in Glenridding.
