Derwent Reservoir 5 and 10 Mile Runs 2026

The event returns for its seventh year with two trail running options around Derwent Reservoir, located at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT. Routes use mixed terrain that showcases the local area.

The courses include firm trails, woodland paths, grassy sections, and a small amount of road running. The 10 mile route completes a full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails. The 5 mile route is all on firm trails. Due to road closures, the 10 mile event has a 2.5 hour cut off.

Cani cross is permitted on the 5 mile only, with one controlled dog per runner. The 10 mile is not suitable for canicross because of extended sections on roads. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North.

All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T shirt can be purchased for £12 when signing up. From 2026 there will be a parking or bus transfer charge and full details will be sent to entrants before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
