Derwent Reservoir 5 & 10 Milers takes place at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett (DH8 9TT) on 22 February 2026. This is the seventh running of the winter trail event. The reservoir is owned by Northumbrian Water and lies on the border of County Durham and Northumberland. Registration opens 25/02/2025 06:00 and closes 18/02/2026 23:59.

Routes, entries and on-the-day services

  • 5 mile - price £25 + fee; remaining places 497; canicross friendly.
  • 10 mile - price £27 + fee; remaining places 381; not suitable for canicross.

The courses follow mixed terrain including firm trails, woodland paths, grassy sections, and a small amount of road running. The 10 mile event has a 2.5-hour cut off due to road closures. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T-shirt is available for purchase for £12 at sign-up.
