Derwent Reservoir 5 & 10 Mile Runs 2026

Wild Deer Events stages winter trail races at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett (DH8 9TT). The event offers two route choices around the reservoir and surrounding paths.

  • 5 mile - all on firm trails
  • 10 mile - full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails

The courses include a mixture of firm trails, woodland paths, grassy sections, and a small amount of road running. The 5 mile route is canicross friendly with one controlled dog permitted per runner. The 10 mile route is not suitable for canicross because it includes extended sections on roads.

There is a 2.5 hour cut off for the 10 mile event due to road closures. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T shirt can be purchased for £12 when signing up.

There is a parking charge on site and entrants will receive full details about parking or bus transfer arrangements before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
