Derwent Reservoir 10 and 5 Miler

This event stages two winter trail races around Derwent Reservoir in Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT on 11 April 2027. The routes use mixed terrain that combines firm trails and sections of road around the reservoir, which is owned by Northumbrian Water and sits on the border of County Durham and Northumberland.

Distances

  • 5 mile - all on firm trails; canicross friendly, one controlled dog per runner
  • 10 mile - full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails

The 10 mile route has a 2.5 hour cut off because of road closures. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. Entry options include a paid event T-shirt available for £12 and finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink.

Age limits apply: entrants must be at least 17 years old for the 10 mile and 15 years old for the 5 mile on the event date. Entry prices are listed from £26 to £29. On-site parking requires a purchased parking pass at £3 per vehicle; the organiser suggests car sharing where possible.

The event is organised by Wild Deer Events and takes place entirely at the Derwent Reservoir venue named above. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
