Derwent Reservoir Runs
The event returns for its ninth year and the date has been moved to May to allow for more on site car parking. It is held at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT. The reservoir is owned by Northumbrian Water and sits on the border of County Durham and Northumberland.
Routes take in mixed terrain around the reservoir and use firm trails and some closed roads. Distances offered:
- 5 km - route on firm trails, canicross friendly, one controlled dog per runner.
- 5 mile - route on firm trails, canicross friendly, one controlled dog per runner.
- 10 mile - full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails, not suitable for canicross.
Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. The 10 mile event has a 2.5 hour cut off due to road closures. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T shirt can be purchased for £14 when registering.
There is a parking charge on site and all vehicles must purchase a parking pass for £3. Final parking payment arrangements will be confirmed nearer the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
