The Gateshead Trail 10k is a trail running race in Swalwell, Gateshead, scheduled for 22 August 2026. This is the 11th edition of the event. The race distance is 10 km and the entry field is limited to a sell-out size of 2,000 runners. Runners aged 15 years and over are eligible to take part.

Course and race-day facilities

The route runs on wide paths and trails through Derwent Walk Country Park and is traffic free. The course includes a double loop at the top section so runners remain close to others, and it has only a few inclines. A start and finish village provides food stalls, music, local gourmet food vans and barista coffee. All finishers receive a designer medal that doubles as a bottle opener. Additional provisions include free on-site parking, a free goodie bag, free professional photos via Facebook, and free entry and a T-shirt for volunteers.
