Gateshead Trail 10K

The Gateshead Trail 10K is scheduled for Saturday 29 August 2026 and is presented as the 11th and final edition. The event is based at Blaydon Rugby Club and takes place on trails around Derwent Walk Country Park, a few miles from Newcastle and Gateshead.

The course covers 10 km of multi terrain trails with mostly hard packed off road sections. The route includes some mildly challenging inclines, sweeping lines and areas that loop back, which can create a social element on the course. The paths are maintained by rangers and are described as easy to run on for trail surfaces.

Event facilities at the start and finish area include a DJ and MC presence from Frisk Radio, toilets, an onsite retailer, a bar in the rugby club, and a range of street food vendors offering hot sandwiches, wood fired pizza and coffee. Entry includes chip timing with a personalised number, a bespoke finishers medal, free professional photos on social media, post race goodies, instant live results, friendly marshalls and a qualified medical team. Free onsite parking is available.

The event lists male and female prizes, age category prizes including U18 and veteran categories from 40 years upward, overall podium prizes and spot prizes. The minimum age to enter is 15 or older and the stated entry fee is £29.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
