Gateshead Trail 10k

The Gateshead Trail 10k is scheduled for 29 August 2026 and is presented as the 11th and final edition. The event is a 10 km multi-terrain trail race held around Derwent Walk Country Park, a few miles from the centres of Newcastle and Gateshead.

The route runs on a mix of hard-packed off-road paths and trail sections. The course includes some sweeping lines and looped sections that create a social element, and it contains a few mildly challenging inclines. The start and finish area is based at Blaydon Rugby Club, where live DJ and MCs provide event atmosphere.

Entry opens on 26 April 2026 and closes on 27 August 2026. The minimum age for entry is 15 or older and the listed entry fee is £29. Entry includes chip timing with a personalised race number, a bespoke finisher medal, free professional photos posted on social media, post-race goodies, free onsite parking, instant live results, marshals, and a qualified medical team.

Prizes are awarded by gender, by several veteran age categories, and for overall positions including first, second and third. Spot prizes are also listed and all finishers receive a medal.

Onsite facilities and services include toilets, an onsite retailer, a range of street food vendors offering hot sandwiches, wood-fired pizza and coffee, and a bar in the rugby club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
