Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail 2027

This event is a multi-distance trail meeting hosted by Northumberland Estate in Hulne Park near Alnwick Castle. It is part of the 2027 Run Northumberland Castles Challenge Series and uses traffic-free park paths and farm tracks. Distances offered include:

  • 5k
  • 10k, one loop on paths and farm tracks
  • Half Marathon
  • Junior 2k

The course profile is described as flat with multi-terrain surfaces. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport and distance markers are placed every kilometre. The minimum competing age is 11. All finishers receive a unique Alnwick Castle Trail Run medal and there is an option to purchase a race t-shirt.

Event logistics are centred at Race HQ in Hulne Park, with bag drop, toilets, changing facilities, signed parking, first aid, water at the finish, and refreshments. Prizes include top three individual men and women, age group winners where at least five finishers qualify, and first men’s and women’s teams with scoring requirements and minimum team entries. Entries are limited to 100, with affiliated and unaffiliated entry fees listed at £14 and £16 respectively. Dogs are not allowed on the estate or in the race. A 10K trail race at Northumberlandia on 18 July 2026 using the landform and surrounding countryside, with a one mile children's fun run, a water station, bespoke finisher medals and an event village with café and stalls.

A flat, two lap five mile trail race in Ashington on 21 July 2026 with an entry limit of 125, affiliated and unaffiliated pricing, prizes and finisher gifts.

A marshalled, approximately 14 mile coastal race from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary on 26 July 2026 with a three hour 30 minute cut-off and a 1000-runner limit. Bus transfers and T-shirt options must be booked by 14 June 2026.

A seven mile trail through Ingram Valley that visits ancient hillforts and offers views of the Cheviot Hills. The course is fully marked and registration and race numbers are handled at Ingram Village Hall; dogs are not permitted.
