The Run Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail Half Marathon is part of the 2026 Run Northumberland Castles Challenge Series. It takes place in Hulne Park near Alnwick Castle, a historic setting in Northumberland.

Course Details

The half marathon course consists of two loops around Hulne Park. Runners will follow paths and farm tracks on a multi-terrain, traffic-free, and undulating route. The event is hosted by the Northumberland Estate.

Race Day Information

Race headquarters and registration are located at Hulne Park, Alnwick, at the field at Abbey Lodge. On-site facilities include a bag drop, toilets, and changing facilities. Parking will be signposted. Water stations are available every 3 miles, and distance markers are placed every mile. The event uses chip timing provided by Timing4Sport. Participants must be at least 17 years old.

Participation and Awards

The event has an entry limit of 500 participants. All finishers will receive a unique Alnwick Castle Trail Run medal. There is also an opportunity to purchase a unique race t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall, as well as to the first finisher in each age group (Men 40+ and Women 35+), provided there are at least five finishers in that category. The first men's and women's teams (of three scoring members) also receive prizes; team members must wear club vests. Dogs are not permitted on the estate grounds or in the race.
