Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail

The Run Northumberland Alnwick Castle Trail is a multi-terrain running event held within the historic grounds of the Northumberland Estate. Based in Hulne Park near Alnwick, the courses utilize a mix of paths and farm tracks, offering runners a route through a scenic and undulating landscape.

The event features several distance options to accommodate different athletes:

  • 2 km Junior run
  • 5 km trail run
  • 10 km trail run
  • Half Marathon

The 10 km course consists of a single loop around the park. Participants in this distance must be at least 15 years old. The event is traffic-free, and professional chip timing is provided for all runners. Water stations are positioned at the 5 km mark, and distance markers are placed at every kilometer along the route.

Race headquarters are located at Hulne Park, where participants can access bag drop facilities, toilets, and parking. All finishers receive a unique Alnwick Castle Trail Run medal, and there is an option to purchase an event t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in specific age categories and the leading club teams. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the estate grounds or within the race itself. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
