Course and Format

The Enchanted Ultra is a 50 km ultramarathon run through the Cheviot hills. The route starts in Wooler at The Mart. Runners navigate the course using GPS devices, following a provided digital route map and a physical waterproof map. The course includes landmarks such as Humbleton Hill, the St Cuthberts Way, the hillfort of Yeavering Bell, and passes close to Hen Hole on the Cheviot.

Terrain and Logistics

The route covers varied terrain, including rolling hills, steep ascents and descents, grassy trails, rocky paths, dense woodlands, and open moorlands. There are two fully stocked aid stations, located at Hethpool (10 miles) and Langleeford (22 miles). Medical cover and marshals will be present on the course. The event has an 11-hour time limit for completion.

Finish and Requirements

The finish line features soup and sandwiches. Participants receive a GPS tracker during the event, and a finisher's medal and certificate upon completion. The entry fee covers these items. Coastal trail running in Bamburgh on 21 February 2026 with 10K, half, marathon and ultra distances on a linear course; the event counts toward the Endurancelife Season Leaderboard.

An ultra trail along the Northumberland coast from Bamburgh to Druridge Bay with two distances, 54 km and a new 27 km option. The route includes coastal landmarks, feed stations, mandatory kit requirements, and live chip timing.

Trail runs around Alnwick Castle feature routes through Hulne Park and the Priory in two distances. The event uses live chip timing, includes a finisher medal and refreshments, and donates part of each entry to NE Youth.

A Category AS fell race near Ingram, covering 8 km / 5 miles with significant ascent, held at Bulby’s Wood car park. Entry is on the day only for £5 and the event is part of the North East Fell Running Championship.
