The Enchanted Ultra 50K

The Enchanted Ultra is a 50 km ultra-marathon held on 19 September 2026 in the Cheviot Hills, with the route starting at The Mart in Wooler. Entries open on 17 October 2025 and close on 31 August 2026 at 12:00. The minimum age is 18 and the published entry fee is £70. Places are limited.

The route follows upland and valley terrain and passes named landmarks and checkpoints, including Humbleton Hill, St Cuthberts Way, the hillfort of Yeavering Bell, checkpoint 1 at Hethpool (about 10 miles), College Valley, Mounthooley, a section near Hen Hole, the climb up Cheviot and a descent via the Harthope Burn to checkpoint 2 at Langleeford (about 22 miles). The return route goes via Coldlaw, Snear Hill and other local features.

Navigation is by a provided digital route and runners will be expected to use a GPS device. The organiser provides a digital route map, a waterproof map and a GPS tracker. Two fully stocked aid stations, marshals around the course and medical cover are listed as included. Finish provision includes soup, sandwiches, a finisher medal and a certificate.

The course includes varied surfaces such as grassy trails, rocky paths, woodlands and open moorland. Weather conditions may be severe. Trail runs nearby

Scenic multi terrain races at Hulne Park near Alnwick Castle on 24 May 2026, featuring 5k, 10k, half marathon and junior 2k. The traffic free event includes chip timing, water stations and a finisher medal.

A final local trail race in St Boswells covering about 13 km across river trails, open fields and rooty paths with a historical Wobbly Bridge midway. Numbers are issued in the village Hall and entry is £15.

A 10 km trail route starting and finishing at Ingram Village Hall that visits the summits of Cochrane Pike and East Hill with two outward-and-return climbs. The course passes through a working, sensitive area so dogs are not permitted.

Trail runs at Druridge Bay Country Park in Morpeth offering 5 km and 10 km courses over paths, trails and beach. The event is canicross friendly and supports HospiceCare North Northumberland.
