The Enchanted Ultra 50K : Wooler, Cheviot Hills (19 September 2026)

The Enchanted Ultra is a 50 km trail event held in the Cheviot Hills with Wooler Auction Mart listed as the event location. The event is organised by Northern Fell Running and Cheviot TRAIL Events. Minimum age for entry is 18. Entries open 17 October 2025 and close 31 August 2026. The published entry fee is £70. The organiser provides a digital route map and a waterproof map, and entrants are required to navigate using a GPS device. Race support includes a GPS tracker for competitors, marshals around the course, medical cover, and two staffed aid stations. At the finish there is soup and sandwiches, a finisher’s medal and a certificate. Photography and filming may be used for promotional purposes. Dogs are not permitted.

The route description notes a start at The Mart in Wooler and passage through Humbleton Hill to join St Cuthbert’s Way, continuing past the hillfort of Yeavering Bell to checkpoint 1 at Hethpool (about 10 miles). The course follows the College Valley to Mounthooley, passes close to Hen Hole, climbs Cheviot and descends via the Harthope Burn to checkpoint 2 at Langleeford (about 22 miles), then returns toward Wooler via Coldlaw, Snear Hill and Earl. The course crosses varied terrain including ancient woodland, boggy ground, open moorland, grassy trails and rocky sections, and it may be exposed to strong upland weather. A 10 mile night trail run across the Simonside Hills near Rothbury on Saturday 7 February 2026. The event uses hilly, forested trails; headtorches are required and all entrants receive an event buff.
