A 7 hour timed trail event on a loop beside the River Wear in Durham where runners choose their distance from 3 km upwards. Finishers receive themed medals, goody bags and distance pins for longer achievements.

The Up and Running Events - Chatelherault Country Park will take place in Ferniegair on Saturday 17 October 2026. You can run between 6 and 20 kilometers.

Two trail races from Shotley Bridge, County Durham, with a **25 km** course and a **53 km** ultra that passes reservoirs, moorland and woods. The 53 km route has three feed stations, mandatory safety kit and live chip timing.

A Halloween-themed fun run at Thorpe Farm Centre on 18th October with adult and child distances, a costume contest and finish-line refreshments. A £2 entry fee on the door supports the Upper Teesdale Agricultural Suport Service.

An eight-hour looped trail event at Tentsmuir Forest where runners complete 4.366 mile laps to accumulate distance. Laps are timed by wrist tags; 3 laps equal a half marathon, 6 a full marathon and 7 or more an ultramarathon.

A *10 km* trail race from Auchterarder into the Ochil Hills with forest trails, stream crossings and a route shaped like a chilli pepper. Online entry, 16+ age limit, goody bag with snood and medal, prizes for finishers and costumes.

Trail Outlaws stages Dark Skies Run @ Wooler in Northumberland with fully marked trails, stocked check points and options for a Trail 10k or a Half Marathon. Entry fees shown range from £25 to £36.

Trail events at Helvellyn in Glenridding feature marked, marshalled courses around Ullswater with varied off road terrain. Distances include 5 km, 10 km and 15 km options with specific age and time rules.

A scenic half marathon around Dalmeny Estate and Cammo Nature Reserve near Edinburgh, featuring wooded trails, riverside paths and modest climbs. Chip timed, medal for finishers and event proceeds support South Queensferry RNLI.

Circular walking and running event from Pooley Bridge offering a 20 mile Ullswater Way route and a higher level 24 mile Challenge with staffed checkpoints and simple finish catering.

November 2026

A coastal running event in Seaham with 5 km and 10 km courses starting at the Tommy statue. A one minute silence precedes each race; live chip timing and finisher medal, T shirt and snack are provided.

A ten mile road race around Derwent Water on 1 November 2026, organised by Keswick AC with Race HQ at Keswick School, tarmac roads, refreshments midrace and first aid provision.

A mixed terrain trail festival at Tentsmuir Forest near Tayport offering a half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, junior 5 km and a 1.2 km family fun run with marshalled, signposted routes and charitable proceeds for the Tayport Community Trust.

Trail running on Ullswater from Jenkin's Field in Glenridding with 10k and 14k options. Boat transfers may take runners to the start or contingency routes are used, and compulsory kit and marshals are enforced for safety.
