Trail Running calendar near Wray 2026-2027

A roughly 5k trail race at Hamsterley Forest on 8 March 2026 with mud, hills and obstacles; dogs are welcome and veterinary and canine first aid cover are provided. Teams of five compete for Top Dogz awards based on aggregate time.

Take on the Granny's Bay Challenge, a six hour timed run on flat tarmac along the Ribble estuary in Lytham St Annes, with scenic views across to Southport and North Wales. Complete as many laps as you like and earn a medal after one lap.

Join WODland Endurorun at Holme Styes Wood near Holmfirth for a scenic looped trail race with 5 km laps. Choose from 5 km, 10 km, 20 km or test your endurance in a 6 hour challenge solo or relay with up to three team members.

Tackle the classic 51 km Haworth Hobble across gritstone moors around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. Expect 1340 m of climb, remote winter conditions, mandatory kit checks, trackers, six feed stations and hot food at the finish.

Canicross on Saturday and trail races on Sunday at the private Brynkinalt Estate in Chirk, with scenic approx 5k and 10k routes over footpaths, grass and climbs. Festival vibes, photos and results add to the experience.

Take on the Grindleford Gallop on Saturday 14 March 2026, a scenic 34 km trail with about 825 m of climb across moorland, trails and Chatsworth Park. A volunteer run event raising funds for Grindleford Primary School.

Take on the scenic Chicken Run in Hayfield, Peak District, with two route options over challenging fell terrain. Friendly community vibe, cakes and refreshments at the school, and proceeds support Hayfield Primary School.

An AS-category fell race by Keswick Athletic Club in the Lake District, covering 7.2 km with 543 m of ascent to Causey Pike. The route includes marked summit sections and three marshal points, and full FRA kit plus a base layer is mandatory..

Scenic trail races at Leighton Hall include a flowing 10k through farmland and reedbeds and a 21k half marathon with estuary and Lake District views. Earlybird places are limited and dogs are not permitted.

Classic fell race over 6.5 miles and 260 m ascent across Pennine moorland, with stream crossings, boggy trods and a climb up Pule Hill. Join Holmfirth Harriers at Marsden Cricket Club on 15 March 2026 for a muddy, scenic challenge.

A chip timed 5 mile community trail run in Bolton on 15 March 2026 with a 300 runner limit and entry from £15. The event is organised by Burnden Road Runners and held at Smithills Sports Centre.

Test yourself on Sun 15 Mar 2026 in the Lake District with a 15 km fell race from Muncaster Castle featuring 620 m of climb over rough, sometimes navigational terrain. Entry is cash only on the day, £5, teams welcome.
