The Bluebell Bimble

The Bluebell Bimble is a 6 mile trail race located in the Derbyshire countryside between Chesterfield and the Peak District. The course consists of a self-guided loop that takes participants through the Linacre Reservoirs area and surrounding bluebell woods. The terrain includes waterside trails, forest paths, and a mix of flowing descents and one significant climb located near the end of the route.

The event is held under UK Athletics rules. Participants must be at least 18 years old to enter, though some registration documents indicate a minimum age of 16. Entry fees are set at £5.00 for UKA members and £7.00 for non-members. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the course.

This is a self-guided race, meaning there are no marshals on the route and no GPX files provided. Runners are required to follow written instructions provided on the day. Timing is recorded at the start and finish locations. Because the event is self-navigated, participants are responsible for their own safety throughout the duration of the loop.

The start and finish area is located at Wadshelf Village Hall. Participants are required to carry specific safety equipment due to the potential for unpredictable weather. The mandatory kit includes:

  • A waterproof jacket
  • Warm layers
  • A working mobile phone

Runners have the flexibility to choose their own start time. Refunds are only issued if the event is officially cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
