Delamere Forest 21k and 42k, 26 April 2026

Delamere Forest hosts trail races over two measured distances on undulating woodland paths. The event centre is at Delamere Forest Visitor Centre, Northwich CW8 2HZ, with an event village on site.

Distances:

  • 21 km
  • 42 km

Routes run through forest sections, around Blakemere Moss, along the Sandstone Trail, and ascend Old Pale Hill for views across the Cheshire plain. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals are positioned along the course. Aid stations are provided at regular intervals.

Logistics include Pay & Display parking split between the main Visitor Centre carpark and Whitefield Carpark, with approximately a 1 mile walk from Whitefield to the race start. If a race bib has not been received by post it can be collected from registration in the event village. One bag per participant may be left with the event team; bag tags are supplied with race bibs.

The event is run under UK Athletics rules. Minimum ages are 17 for the 21 km and 18 for the 42 km. The race is a UTMB Index event in its corresponding categories. The listed charity partner is Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Mandatory kit listed by the organiser includes a GPS watch or phone, at least 250 ml of water, hat and gloves, a hooded jacket, and an emergency foil blanket. Recommended items include trail shoes, a hydration pack, a foldable cup, technical clothing, and a whistle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
