Chester Ultra 100
The Chester Ultra 100 is a 102 mile trail ultramarathon around Chester with 1590 m of ascent and 400 race places. The route links regional trails and features urban and rural sections including Chester, Beeston Castle, Delamere Forest, the Sandstone Trail, Frodsham, Warrington, Helsby Hill and the Bridgewater Canal. The course is waymarked and a GPX file is provided prior to the race.
The event includes 12 organised checkpoints offering drinks and food, with indoor checkpoints providing hot drinks, pasta or soup. Checkpoint cut-off times are strictly enforced and there is an overall 32 hour cut-off for the event. Live online GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker.
Entry fees are shown for unaffiliated and affiliated entrants. The race awards ITRA points and UTMB mountain performance index points and is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and is subject to checks; required items include a waterproof coat with sealed seams, long sleeved base layer, at least 1 litre water capacity, charged mobile phone in waterproof cover, survival/thermal bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens), a secondary torch, whistle and the supplied GPS tracker. Participants must be at least 20 years old and have completed an organised ultramarathon of at least 50 miles prior to the event.
A single dropbag may be used and is permitted at the halfway indoor location and later indoor checkpoint. One pacer is permitted from the halfway point onward under the stated pacer rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
