Chester Ultra 100
The Chester Ultra 100 is a trail ultramarathon held on Saturday 17 April 2027 around Chester and nearby countryside. The course covers 102 miles with 1590m of ascent and is limited to 400 places. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. It awards ITRA points and UTMB mountain performance index points.
The route links local routes and landmarks including Chester, Beeston Castle, Delamere Forest, the Sandstone Trail, Frodsham, Warrington, Helsby Hill and the Bridgewater Canal. Organisers provide support at 12 checkpoints along the route; indoor checkpoints offer hot drinks and some hot food at named village halls. A GPX file and route marking are supplied prior to the event. Live online GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker.
There is a 32 hour cut off for the full distance. Prize buckles are awarded by finishing position with Gold for the top 100, Silver for 100 to 200 and Bronze for 201 and above; there are additional prizes for the top three male and top three female finishers.
Entrants must be at least 20 years old and must have previously completed an organised ultramarathon of at least 50 miles. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and will be subject to random checks; examples include a waterproof coat with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, a minimum 1 litre water container, a charged mobile phone in waterproof covering, a survival or thermal bag, a headtorch and a whistle.
