Chester Ultra 100

Chester Ultra 100 is a 102 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester held on Saturday 17th April 2027. The route accumulates approximately 1590 m of ascent and links local routes including the Sandstone Trail, Delamere Forest, the Bridgewater Canal, the Trans Pennine Trail and the North Cheshire Way. The event is limited to 400 places and has a 32 hour overall cut off.

The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and must have previously completed an organised ultramarathon of at least 50 miles. Live GPS tracking is provided via GB Race Tracker and organisers operate 12 staffed checkpoints along the course offering drinks, snacks, hot food at selected indoor checkpoints and basic medical cover.

Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes items such as a waterproof coat with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, a minimum 1 litre water container, a fully charged phone in waterproof covering, a survival/thermal bag, headtorch of at least 75 lumens, a secondary torch and a whistle. A provided GPS tracker is part of the mandatory kit. Dropbags are allowed at the Frodsham checkpoint locations with a maximum size and weight limit. A five mile trail race and a 2 km kids fun run at Lymm High School, on grass and dirt paths through Helsdale Wood and Spud Wood. Age limits, entry fees, prize categories and a no refund transfer policy are specified.

An evening orienteering event at Brereton Heath on 23 June 2026 with a range of colour coded courses from White to Blue and a Score option. The event uses parkland and woodland, with metered parking and registration outside the Visitor Cent..

Nant Gain is a 7.6 km fell race around Cilcain with 370 m of ascent, night registration at The White Horse Pub and a £3 entry on the night. Parking is limited so car sharing and use of the viewpoint car park are recommended.

A Pretty Muddy 5 km obstacle event at Tatton Park featuring climbing, crawling and sliding across uneven grass and gravel terrain. It requires participants to be 13 or older and includes fundraising support plus a Race for Life medal.
