Chester Ultra 100

The Chester Ultra 100 is a 102 mile trail ultramarathon based in Chester with approximately 1590 m of total ascent and a 32 hour overall cut off. The route combines a variety of regional trails and paths, including canals, the Sandstone Trail, Delamere Forest, Helsby Hill and sections through Frodsham, Warrington and Beeston Castle, and is waymarked with GB Ultras support at 12 checkpoints.

The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and must have completed an organised ultramarathon of at least 50 miles prior to race day. The race attains ITRA and UTMB mountain performance index points and uses live online GPS tracking via GB Race Tracker.

On-course provisions are provided at indoor and outdoor checkpoints and include drinks, snacks, hot food at selected halls, and basic medical cover. Certain checkpoints restrict supporter or crew access due to limited parking and safety; parking at the start and other locations is also limited and a single vehicle per runner policy applies. Two dropbag points are provided at the same location (CP6 and CP11); dropbags must meet size and weight limits (max 56 x 45 x 25 cm, 7 kg). Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a waterproof coat, long sleeve base layer, minimum 1 litre fluid container, charged mobile in waterproof cover, survival/thermal bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens), secondary torch, whistle and the issued GPS tracker. Buckles are awarded to finishers in Gold, Silver and Bronze tiers based on finishing position. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
