The route links local trails and waterways, including Chester, Beeston Castle, Delamere Forest, the Sandstone Trail, Frodsham, Warrington, Helsby Hill, the Bridgewater Canal, the Shropshire Canal, the Trans-Pennine Trail and the North Cheshire Way. The course is waymarked and supported by GB Ultras at 12 checkpoints along the route. Checkpoints provide drinks, snacks and hot food at some indoor halls; vegan and vegetarian options are available and basic medical cover is on site.
Race services and requirements include live online GPS tracking, chip timing, and awarding of ITRA and UTMB mountain performance index points. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Entrants must meet qualifying criteria including a minimum age and prior ultramarathon experience.
Logistics and participant rules cover dropbags at designated checkpoints, mandatory kit to be carried at all times, limits on support crew access at specific checkpoints, and a single pacer permitted from the halfway point. Full race instructions and final GPX are issued to participants before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
