Nightingale House Alyn Waters 5k & 10k

Nightingale House Hospice stages a running event on 18 April 2026 at Alyn Waters Country Park, Llay, LL12 0RP. The event offers timed community runs across natural trails and aims to raise funds for the hospice.

The route is multi terrain with undulating sections, uneven and unstable trail surfaces and a few inclines. The course will be marshalled and clearly marked, with instant chip timed results provided by Nifty Entries. The 10 km follows the 5 km loop twice. Water stations are provided and a medical team will be available on site.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category. Runners receive a cereal bar at the finish and there will be entertainment and stalls offering food and drinks after the event.

Age restrictions apply: 5 km entrants must be at least 11 years old and 10 km entrants at least 15 years old. Children under 15 must be accompanied to and from the event by a responsible adult who remains in attendance. Dogs are not permitted on the course except assistance dogs with prior arrangement; spectators may bring dogs on a lead but should stand clear of the route. Buggies may take part subject to course conditions.

Facilities are limited. Portable toilets will be available near the start and there are no showers or changing rooms. Parking on site is limited. The registration fee is non refundable but entries may be transferred to another runner. A 102-mile, waymarked trail ultramarathon around Chester with 1590 m of ascent, 12 checkpoints, mandatory kit and a 32-hour cut-off. The route uses regional trails and canals and is licensed by the Trail Running Association.
