The Wirral Summer Trail Series - Apr

The Wirral Summer Trail Series is a recurring running event held at Wirral Country Park. The April edition marks the start of a five month competition that takes place on the third Tuesday of every month from April through August. The event is based at the Visitor Centre on Station Road in Wirral.

The race follows a trail course of approximately 8 km. This same route is used for each installment of the series, allowing participants to compare their performances across different months. The competition is open to all runners who are aged 16 or over on the day of the first race.

Trophies are awarded based on the series as a whole rather than individual races. To be eligible for individual awards, participants usually need to complete four out of the five races. Age categories for both male and female runners range from Under 18 and Under 20 through to Over 70. There are also overall awards for the top three male and female finishers. Participants who complete at least four races in the series receive a T-shirt. Proceeds from the event support Running Headfirst.

Registration is available online and remains open until 30 minutes before the start. Participants have the option to enter the April race individually or to sign up for the entire five race series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
