The Course and Location

The run takes place on the active RAF Spadeadam station, a site first built in 1955 as the test centre for the Blue Streak intermediate-range ballistic missile. The trail route passes historic military infrastructure, including iconic launch platforms, military equipment, and practice targets. The course also provides views over the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, and Spadeadam Forest. The distances are approximate to ensure many sights are included. Spectators are not permitted access to the RAF station.
