Trail Running calendar near Lowther 2026-2027

The James Herriot Country Trail will take place in Leyburn on Sunday 26 July 2026. You can run 14 kilometers.

Tackle the Hameldon Quarry Race on 28 July 2026 in Hapton, Burnley, a lively 6.5 km trail with about 400 m of climb through Bowland terrain. Day entry only, low fees and team categories make it ideal for a spontaneous challenge.

Tackle the Fellrunner at Lee Mill Quarry, a 10km fell race with 332 m climb, offering steep scenic trails and a tough workout. Entry on the day and teams welcome make this a lively opener for the Rossendale mid week series.

Ambleside Sports is a BOFRA fell race on Thursday 30 July 2026 at Rydal Park near Ambleside. The 1.70 mile course climbs about 800 feet over bracken paths to a rocky summit and includes both junior and senior routes.

Join the Heart Of The Lakes Rydal Round, a scenic Lake District fell run of 9 miles with 915 m climb around Rydal Park. Entry is on the day and the race opens Ambleside Sports; sports field admission applies.

A women's-only ultramarathon through the scenic woodlands and moorlands of West Yorkshire, starting and finishing in Hebden Bridge. Participants receive a finisher's medal and can enjoy vegan-friendly checkpoints and hot food at the finish.

A 37 mile loop through the North Pennines AONB from Allendale via Ninebanks Alston and Nenthead. Solo ultra or three person relay with a 12 hour completion limit, waymarked route with checkpoints and downloadable GPX.

A 36 mile ultra marathon tracing the full length of the Esk Valley Way from Castleton to Whitby Harbour. The point-to-point route follows the River Esk through the North York Moors, with coach transport and GPS tracking provided.

Calderdale Crawl is a 24 mile walk or run near Halifax on footpaths that pass woods, fields and a short riverside section; refreshments are provided along the route and a meal is available at the finish.

A fell race held within the Osmotherley Show in North Yorkshire on 1 August 2026, covering 8.8 km with 320 m of climb. Entry is open to runners aged 16 and over with day registration and show admission required.

A fell race on Farleton Knott near Kendal with a 2.60 mile route rising about 750 feet. It counts as a BOFRA championship counter, includes junior and senior categories, and is held with permission of the Dallam Tower Estate.

Join the Round Hill fell race for a challenging 14.1 km course with sweeping York Dales views, starting and finishing in charming Timble village. Entry is on the day for a small fee and part of the proceeds support brain tumour research.

Crow Hill Reverse fell race in the South West Pennines on 4 Aug 2026 offers a steep 8 km route with 305 m of climb from Dusty Miller pub in Mytholmroyd. No pre entry required; join on the day for £5 and tackle a classic Pennine fell.

A multi-terrain 8.8 km loop around historic Hopwood Hall on the outskirts of Middleton, organised by Middleton Harriers. Entries are limited to 200 and prizes are awarded for individual and team placings.

An evening pop up run in Rodley on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal offering 5k and 10k options, on the day entry and online entry listed, with a jumble medal plus hot food and a drink for participants.

Challenge yourself to a scenic 17 km Lake District fell race with about 906 m of ascent across classic high ground around Grey Friar and Old Man. Pre entry only via SI Entries from 14 April and all proceeds support Alzheimer's Research UK.

A trail race day at Hutton Le Hole offering marathon, half and 10k routes across the North York Moors with downloadable maps, mandatory kit checks and marshalled parking; camper spaces and a cupless policy are in place.
