Trail Running calendar near Hawkshead 2026-2027

Trail running at Staveley Recreation Ground with 5K, 10K, half marathon and family fun trails, varied Lakeland terrain and on-site music and facilities.

A 14 km fell race in Coniston on 1 May 2027 with 1065 m of ascent, pre entry only via SI Entries and fees for members and non members; parking is at Coniston CE Primary School only.

A 9.6 km fell race near Accrington on 2 May 2027 with 338 m of climb. It is a Category BS event with UK Athletics insurance, open to entrants aged 18 and over with pre entry and on the day options.

Half marathon and 10K through Whinlatter Forest on 2 May 2027, with live chip timing, Canicross friendly entries and scenic views across Keswick and Skiddaw.

An evening trail event at Gibside National Trust across wooded and garden landscape with 5km and 10km options, live chip timing, Canicross welcome, finishers' medal and onsite parking.

Evening pop up runs at Rodley with 5k and 10k options, finishers receive a jumble medal and a soft drink. Entry fees are listed from £12 to £17 and payment on the day is accepted.

Trail races at Brockholes Nature Reserve near Preston offering 10k, half marathon, marathon and timed ultra options on a lap based course.

A 47 miles (75K) fully waymarked ultra around Lake Windermere open to runners and walkers, with GPS tracking, six feed stations and a bag drop at Troutbeck. Competitors must carry mandatory kit and complete the route within 24 hours.

A 24 hour ultra from Prestatyn along the Offa's Dyke Path where solo runners and teams aim to reach the furthest south point in the allotted time. Six staffed checkpoints, GPS tracking and a mandatory kit list support participants.

Multiple distances on a 5K loop at UCLAN Sports Arena in Cottam, from 10K to ultra with a six hour time limit on a marked off road and paved course.

A 22.5 km fell race near Downham, Lancashire with about 1250 m of ascent, limited to 200 runners and open to adults only. Pre-entry and on the day entry are available with permit and UK Athletics insurance provided by the FRA.

A 14.5 km fell race on 8 May 2027 from Rydal Hall, Ambleside, with 914 m ascent. Entrants need fell-racing experience and map-and-compass navigation; the route is only partly flagged and has five checkpoints.

A supported 37 mile mountain trail along the Pennine Way from Teesdale to Alston, passing High Cup Nick, Crossfell and several staffed checkpoints.

Hardmoors White Horse at Sutton Bank on 9 May 2027 offers three trail distances with published ascent and time limits. Competitors must carry mandatory kit, navigate with supplied maps and GPX files, and use their own cup at checkpoints.

Multiple distance running event in Avenham Park, Preston with 10K, half, marathon and ultra on marked hard surface loops and post race refreshments.

An off road 10k and 15k in Scorton, Lancashire on 9 May 2027, across countryside and woodland. Entries include chip timing, a tech T shirt, a medal and water stations.

An evening pop-up run in Kirkstall offering 5k and 10k options, on-site medals and a soft drink; payment is available on the day or online and the event is TRA licensed under UKA rules.

A trail race from Studley Roger near Ripon following the Ripon Rowel with routes of 14.2, 23 and 35.1 miles visiting Fountains Abbey and valley woods.

A flat out and back trail event along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Gargrave, North Yorkshire, offering 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon distances with water stations, marshals, signage and bespoke finisher medals.

A 50-mile point-to-point trail from Kendal to Preston on 15 May 2027 with seven checkpoints, mandatory kit, participant tracking and a 13 hour cut-off. Pre-registration only, entry fee £95 and registration closes 9 May.
