Trail Running calendar near Bishop Auckland 2025-2026

Cracoe Cracker Challenge on 21 February 2026 invites runners and walkers to scenic 12 and 25 mile routes across the Yorkshire Dales. Well stocked checkpoints and a hot finish meal make this a popular midwinter event now on the waiting list.

Tackle 13.3 km with 660 m of ascent across steep climbs, wild moorland and fast paths in the scenic South West Pennines. A technical fell race with strict mandatory kit, team prizes and pre entry only.

Enjoy scenic winter trail running around Derwent Reservoir with 5 and 10 mile routes weaving through woodland, firm trails and grassy sections. The 5 mile is canicross friendly so bring one controlled dog for a shared adventure.

Tibthorpe Loop Half Marathon in the Yorkshire Wolds on 28 Feb 2026 offers 13 miles of undulating trail and 1,200 ft of climb. Chip timed finishers receive a wildflower seed medal and the event donates part of each fee to local charities.

Take on 24 miles and 3900 ft of ascent across wild moorland in the Dark Peak on Saturday 28 February 2026. Fully supported from Dovestone Reservoir, this scenic but testing route is ideal for experienced walkers and trail runners.

Tackle Ilkley Moor in this annual 8 km fell race with 401 m of climbing and steep, rocky descents that reward bold, technical running. Entries are limited so expect a competitive field and mandatory FRA kit and rules.

Tackle a muddy multi terrain 10K through Ripon countryside on 1 March 2026 and enjoy a friendly chip timed race that supports St Wilfrid's School. A single lap course welcomes club runners and families with a 1K fun run for kids.

Join the Saint Michael's Harrogate 10K & 5K on 1 March 2026 for a scenic trail run supporting North Yorkshire Hospice Care. Limited to 1,000 places, family friendly 5K entries are free for ages 6 to 15 when accompanied by an adult.

Run under star filled skies with Trail Outlaws Dark Skies Run Series at UK dark sky venues like Kielder. Night trail races from 10K to 26.6 miles offer a friendly, highly rated atmosphere for adventurous runners.

The Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round on Sat 7 Mar 2026 is a classic fell race around Pendle offering Pennine ridges and wide views. About 9.4 miles with 545 m of climb, pre entries and day entries are welcome for a rewarding spring challenge.

Take on the iconic Black Combe fell race in the Lake District: a tough 13 km course with about 1000 m climb and stunning views. Pre entry only, over 18s welcome, and every entry includes a pie.

Challenging trail ultra around Morland covering about 29 miles and 3,000 ft of climbing through Eden Valley and the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Expect meadows, waterfalls, cairns and historic villages on largely off road, scenic terrain.

Run the Northumberland coast from Bamburgh Castle to Druridge Bay, passing dramatic coastal castles and wide sea views. Choose 54 km or the new 27 km and enjoy live timing, feed stations, a medal and a shirt at the finish.
