The event takes place on 5 September 2026 at Kielder Castle in Kielder, Hexham, Northumberland. It marks the centenary of Kielder Forest and offers multiple trail running routes through forest terrain and mixed surfaces.

Routes and elevation gains:

• Ultra: 50 km, +1177 m
• Marathon: 43 km, +869 m
• Half Marathon: 23 km, +407 m
• Middle: 12 km, +487 m
• Short: 6 km, +205 m

The course uses forest trails with sections of fast running and steady inclines. Outposts are provided to top up supplies and will offer sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks. The organiser aims to keep outposts cup free, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle for refills. Camping is available at Kielder Campsite with options including camping pitches, campervan pitches, family pods and caravan spaces.

Mandatory kit is specified for Ultra and Marathon routes and includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, at least 800 calories of food, a minimum of 1 litre of water, a self adhesive elastic bandage, whistle, foil blanket, hat or buff, a reusable cup and a GPX of the route. Cut off times apply for safety: the Ultra has 8 hours 30 minutes to complete 50 km and the Marathon has 8 hours to complete the course. Parking at the venue is pay and display with a day charge of £6.50. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
