THE ROC ENGLAND

THE ROC ENGLAND is a five-stage endurance event held on Saturday 5th September 2026 with a Lakeside, Windermere base in Newby Bridge, Ulverston, Cumbria LA12. The course combines open-water, road and mountain sections and links Windermere with the summit of Scafell Pike and back.

The full route covers a total distance of 112 km and a total ascent of 6,916 ft. The event format comprises five sequential disciplines: SWIM | BIKE | MOUNTAIN | BIKE | RUN. The bike sections pass near Coniston Water and the mountain section reaches the summit of Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain.

Distances for each stage:

  • 1.5 km lake swim
  • 46.5 km road bike
  • 18 km mountain run to Scafell Pike summit and return
  • 45.5 km road bike
  • 1 km trail run

Ambleside Sports includes a BOFRA fell race on 30 July 2026 at Rydal Park. The course is 1.70 miles with 800 feet of climb through bracken to a rocky summit and includes senior and junior routes.
