THE ROC ENGLAND

THE ROC ENGLAND is a five-stage endurance race in the Lake District, centred on Lakeside, Windermere and the ascent of Scafell Pike. The event is scheduled for Saturday 5 September 2026 and follows a fixed sequence of disciplines: swim, bike, mountain run, bike, run.

The full course covers 112 km. The route reaches a summit elevation of 3,209 ft and has a reported total ascent of 6,916 ft. The start location is listed as Lakeside, Newby Bridge, Ulverston, Cumbria LA12.

Distances for each stage are:

A short but steep fell race in the Lake District on 1 July 2026, covering 3.6 km with 506 m of ascent. Held from the recreation field opposite Threlkeld School, the event allows on-the-day entry for a £5 fee and is covered by FRA permit ins..

A 10.5 km fell race to the summit of Whernside with 468 m of ascent, starting near Ribblehead Viaduct and finishing by The Station Inn in Ribblehead. The race follows FRA rules and requires mandatory safety kit and an age minimum of 18.
