Ambleside, United Kingdom • 12-13 Sep 2026

THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Anticlockwise

THE LAP - Anticlockwise is a fully way marked 47 mile trail ultra that circumnavigates Lake Windermere. The route runs anticlockwise from Low Cunsey Farm near Ambleside in Cumbria and is open to both runners and walkers. Participants have a 24 hour time limit to complete the course.

The route is predominantly on tracks, trails and single track, with some steeper fell paths and occasional short sections of quiet country road. The event uses extensive signage and route marking, including 2,500 route marking arrows, and provides a GPS tracker, map and GPX files. A recce GPX is supplied on entry confirmation and the final event GPX with permissive routes is sent before the event.

There are five fully stocked feed stations and a halfway aid station that includes a bag drop. A finishers meal is provided regardless of finish time, and finishers receive a locally sourced medal. The event has generous cut-offs and is presented as a low level Lakes route intended as an introduction to ultra distance or a lower level option for experienced racers.

Minimum age for entry is 16. The published entry fee is £135. The event is scheduled for 12 to 13 September 2026 and, at the time of the listing, the event was full. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
