Scafell Pike Sea to Summit

The Sea to Summit Scafell Pike is a one day mountain ultramarathon on 5 September 2026 that covers 33 miles (53 km) with about +5000 ft of elevation. The event combines coastal running and fell terrain, beginning at the Seascale beachfront and finishing at Seascale Sports Hall (CA20 1PU).

The route is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows so navigation does not require a GPX file. The course includes multiple staffed pit stops offering water, hot drinks, salty snacks, sweets and fruit. Cut offs are set to reflect a 3 mph completion pace, with checkpoint locations at approximately 6.5, 14, 20 and 26 miles.

Medical provision is delivered by a professional team, including paramedics and doctors supported by dedicated vehicles and a private ambulance. Registration and tracker collection are managed at Seascale Sports Hall. Participants must be over 18 on the day of registration.

Mandatory kit includes an ultra running vest or multisport backpack, trail shoes, at least 1L hydration (increased to 2L if hot), a minimum 400 kcal of personal nutrition, waterproof jacket, survival bag, headtorch, whistle, basic first aid, fully charged phone, GPS tracker and event number. Parking is available at an event car park about 3 miles from the start with a free shuttle bus between the car park and the start. Completion awards a Sea to Summit Scafell Pike finisher medal and options exist to earn a Trilogy medal by completing all three events in the series.
