Scafell Pike Sea to Summit
Seascale, United Kingdom • 5 Sep 2026
Scafell Pike Sea to Summit event overview
This is a one day mountain ultramarathon covering 33 miles (53 km) with approximately +5000 ft of ascent. The mass participation event follows a sea to summit route from Seascale beachfront inland across country lanes and trails, traces the shore of Wast Water, includes an ascent of Scafell Pike and returns to Seascale Sports Hall.
The route is fully waymarked with bright orange arrows and is supported by professional mountain safety staff at key locations. Medical cover is provided by a professionally contracted team of paramedics and doctors operating with vehicles and a private ambulance. Checkpoints and pit stops offer toilets, medical help, water, hot drinks, salty snacks, sweets and fruit; participants should bring their own additional nutrition and any allergy-safe food required. A mandatory kit list is provided by the organiser.
Cut offs are set to a 3mph completion pace with checkpoint locations at approximately 6.5, 14, 20 and 26 miles. Participants must be aged 18 or over on the day of registration. Entries may be transferred in line with the organiser’s transfer window and there is an optional third-party Refund Protect product available at purchase. A Trilogy option exists for those who complete all three Sea to Summit events; finishing all three awards a special Trilogy gold medal.
