Trail Running calendar near Strathpeffer 2026-2027

A weekend of trail races at Glen Tanar Estate in Royal Deeside, set in the Cairngorms National Park. Distance races run from 10 km to 55 km and the weekend includes family events and a new free Toddler Dash for 2026.

A circular 30 mile challenge from Rafford near Forres on 29 August 2026 following forestry tracks, the Dava Way and the Moray Coast path. Two manned checkpoints provide refreshments and a hot meal and certificates are provided.

Tackle a scenic 12 or 24 hour loop around Loch Morlich in Glenmore Forest, testing endurance on a supportive, compact course. Limited entries and a runners welfare hub at The Hayfield make for a friendly, focused event.

A summit-and-return mountain race from New Town Park, Fort William to the top of Ben Nevis and back on 5 September 2026, limited to 600 pre-selected, club-affiliated entrants who meet specific hill-racing qualifications.

Experience an off road trail running adventure through the Scottish Highlands from Ben Nevis to Glencoe. Choose between a full or half marathon featuring mountain terrain and the famous Devils Staircase.

An 11 km hill race with 430 m of climb near Monymusk. Entry is by pre entry only via Webscorer, and entry fees are listed as 2024 prices with registration details to be confirmed.

Ben Nevis Skyline is a **30 km** mountain and trail race at Nevis Range near Fort William, held within the Salomon Skyline Scotland weekend on 18 to 20 September 2026. It was a 2025 Golden Trail World Series qualifier.

A multi-day mountain and trail running festival in Kinlochleven, Lochaber, featuring seven races from 100 miles to 5 km and an event village with live commentary, athlete panels and brand exhibits.

Salomon Skyline Scotland returns to Nevis Range near Fort William from 18 to 20 September 2026, offering multiple mountain and trail races from 5 km to 100 miles with live tracking, big screens, an expo and local food traders.

A 47 km mountain trail across the Mamores linking five Munros with 3,100 m ascent, fully waymarked and marshalled. The event includes GPS tracking, a main aid station at 31 km, mandatory kit requirements and a 14 hour time limit.

Fyvie Castle hosts a multi terrain 5 km race plus 1600 m and 800 m trail runs on dates in 2026. Chip timing, medals and age specific rules are in place and refreshments will be available at the castle.

A single loop trail marathon in the Cairngorms National Park on 20 September 2026. The 26.2 mile course is about 80% trail and 20% road, starting and finishing in Kingussie with a finisher medal, T shirt, on site food and prizes.
