Race Dunvegan - Dunvegan 10K, 5K, 2K Fun Run 2027
Race Dunvegan takes place on Saturday 20 March 2027 on the Dunvegan Castle estate on the Isle of Skye. Routes run through the castle grounds and neighbouring woodlands, with views of Loch Dunvegan and the surrounding Skye landscape. The castle building will not be open on the day so the event has full use of the estate grounds.
Routes offered include:
- 10K: undulating course on varied surfaces; runners must be 15 years or older.
- 5K run: accessible route; runners must be 11 years or older.
- 5K walk: open to walkers aged 11 years and over.
- Fun Run (~2 miles): family oriented; open to children over 5 years old, children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Every finisher receives a commemorative medal. Prizes will be awarded in age group categories and participants receive goodie bags. Food and drink will be available at MacLeod Tables Cafe after the event.
The organiser promotes environmental measures including car sharing, reusable hydration options and an option to offset carbon by planting a tree. A portion of race proceeds supports local charities, including Skye Cancer Care and Skye & Lochalsh Citizens Advice Bureau. The event is sponsored by Dunvegan Castle Estates.
