Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands Half Marathon is a friendly, scenic half marathon taking place on Saturday 29 August 2026 in the Outer Hebrides. The route starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Berneray Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses the causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel. The Lochmaddy Hotel and Hamersay Hotel are listed as event sponsors, and Lochmaddy Hotel provides lunch at the finish.
The course is rural and gently undulating and is run mostly on surfaced single track roads with very little traffic. Sea views are available for virtually the whole route. The distance and route have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics.
Registration is managed through SiEntries and requires an account. Entries open Monday 5 January 2026 and close Friday 14 August 2026. Entry fees are shown as £13 for UKA members and £15 for non members. The event is organised by North Uist Amateur Athletics Club and is described as relatively small and exclusive because of its island location; ten participants were listed at the time of publication.
