Two Islands Half Marathon

Two Islands Half Marathon

Two Islands Half Marathon is a friendly, scenic half marathon held on islands in the Outer Hebrides. The event takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 and is deliberately scheduled late in the season. It is a relatively small, island-based event that has remained limited in size because of its location.

The route starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses a causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel, which sponsors the event and provides lunch at the finish. The course is gently undulating and described as less demanding than some island races. Runners have sea views for virtually the whole way. The whole route is rural and mostly on single-track surfaced roads with very little traffic.

The course distance and route have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics. Entry periods and fees are published by the organiser, North Uist Amateur Athletics Club, and the event has established terms, conditions and a cancellation and refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
