Two Islands Half Marathon
The Two Islands Half Marathon is a half marathon held on Saturday 29 August 2026 in the Outer Hebrides. The race is organised by North Uist Amateur Athletics Club. The course starts on the Isle of Berneray near the Gatliff Trust Hostel, crosses a causeway to North Uist and finishes in Lochmaddy at the Lochmaddy Hotel, which sponsors the event and provides lunch at the finish.
The route is rural and mainly on single-track surfaced roads with very little traffic. It is described as gently undulating and less demanding than some island courses. Sea views are available for virtually the whole way. The route and distance have been officially measured by Scottish Athletics.
The event is in its 16th year and is deliberately scheduled late in the season when other island races have usually taken place. Entries are managed through SiEntries; entries open 5 January 2026 and close 14 August 2026. Entry fees listed are £13 for UKA members and £15 for non-members.
