Trail Running calendar near Innerleithen 2025-2026

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the River Ayr Way Challenge, a stunning 40 mile ultra along Scotland's River Ayr on 12 September 2026. Expect rolling countryside, a coastal finish, and a friendly field of runners from across the UK.

Tackle a classic Lake District fell run around Helvellyn and the Dodds, a rugged 18.5 km loop with 1450 m of climbing and stunning mountain views. Open to adults with pre entry or day entry for a proper fell challenge.

The Old Crown Round on 12 Sep 2026 is a tough 36 km Lake District fell race with 2200 m of climbing across pathless open fell, so navigation skills are essential. Pre entry via SiEntries is required and teams are welcome.

Tackle classic Lake District mountain navigation in mid September with three tough courses from 15 km to 29 km and hefty climbs. Applicants are vetted for fell running experience and pre entry is required; pairs welcome on the short course.

Explore Lake District fells and lakes at 13 Valleys Ultra, choosing distances from 22 km to 180 km to suit every trail runner. Fully way marked with ITRA points and Western States qualifier status.

Set off from Holy Island on a scenic ultramarathon along St Oswalds Way, weaving past islands, castles, river valleys and Hadrian's Wall. Fully tracked distances from 50k to 100 miles with medal and t shirt for finishers.

Explore Dalkeith Country Park on 27 September 2026 for the Wild Deer Scottish Festival Trail Runs, offering distances from a family mile to a 32.5 mile ultra and welcoming Canicross. Finishers get a medal, event merch and live chip timing.

Join the William Wallace Running Festival on 10 Oct 2026 in Stirling for scenic routes past the Wallace Monument and other historic sights. Choices span a 1 mile fun run to 70 km with solo or relay teams and a lively finish at Stirling.
