NORN IRON 100 is a multi terrain ultra run in Northern Ireland on 30th May - 31st May 2026, listed as UTMB Index **100M / M** with an iTRA grade of 5 and organised by We Run Wild NI.

A mountain race from Newcastle Centre to Donard Park covering 10 km with 850 m of climb. The unmarked route requires navigation and mandatory safety kit; checkpoint order and cut-offs are enforced for competitor safety.

June 2026

A mountain running event at Sliabh Daeane in County Sligo featuring a main 8.95 km course with 288 m climb and a short course that avoids the mountain section. Entry fees are €7 or €5 for over 65s and under 18s and Level B kit is required.

A trail race at Donard Forest Park on 4 June 2026, Millstone covers 8 km with 500 m of climb over partially marked forest paths. Entry is via SiEntries and the event is organised by Newcastle AC.

A measured 5 mile chip-timed race from CS Lewis Square that follows the Connswater Greenway into Victoria Park and back, on mixed road, trail and grass surfaces.

A 10 mile fell race with about 2200 ft of climbing around Cairncastle and Ballygally near Larne. The course uses roads, farm tracks and fells with checkpoints and minimal route marking, and required fell running kit is specified.

An 8 km mountain race with about 800 m of climb, run anti-clockwise from Ott Car Park. The unmarked route requires competitors to carry full body cover and wear race numbers on the chest.

A 5 km mountain race with about 500 m of climb starting at Hen Car Park. The unmarked route is part of the Hills and Dales series, organised by Newcastle AC, with a 15 year minimum age and specific kit and number rules.

A marked 10 km mountain race in County Sligo with 300 m of ascent, Level B mandatory kit and membership of the North West League. Registration is at the MayFly Inn and there is a 2 km walk to the start.

An elimination event at Florence Court where runners repeat a roughly 4.2 miles lap each hour, completing a lap within one hour to continue. The race proceeds hourly until a single runner completes a lap and is declared the last one standin..

An obstacle race in Derry / Londonderry on 20 and 21 June 2026 featuring a 10 km course with over 50 natural and man made obstacles, plus separate 5 km teen and 2 km mini courses for younger participants.

A mountain point-to-point race on Sunday 21 June 2026 along the Cooley ridge to Slieve Foye, about 10.3 miles with 3,400 feet of ascent. Navigation, mandatory kit and a coach transfer for the first 70 entrants apply.

Drinnahilly is a 6 km forest race with 400 m of climb at Donard Forest Park on 25 June 2026, part of the Hill and Dale series. Entries are via SiEntries and runners must be 15 or older.

A 5 km multi‑terrain race around Carnlough village and quarry, featuring limestone paths, climbs, descents and a short out and back on Largy Road. Minimum age 16, entries via SiEntries with set fees and a no-refund policy.

July 2026

A mountain run on Benbulben with a 9.0 km main route and a 4.5 km short course. Level B mandatory kit is required and runners use a shuttle from Grange to Luke's Bridge.

A mountain running event around Spelga reservoir on 4 July 2026 offering a **20 km** championship course and a new **11 km** league course, both requiring mandatory safety kit and navigation with physical map and compass.

Sea2Sky in Donard Park, Newcastle features evening 10K race and walk plus a 5K race that moves from promenade to forest and the Mourne foothills, with mixed road, trail and an open-mountain section and post-race refreshments.

Carnavaddy is a fully marked mountain running event in Ravensdale Forest with a long 10 km route and a short 5 km route, both including summit sections and woodland trails. Level B mandatory kit is required and GPS use is not permitted.

A 12 km mountain race in County Tyrone with 500 m of ascent to the Mullaghcarn summit. The fully marked course requires Level B kit and is organised by Carmen Runners as part of the IMRA Ulster Championships and NIMRA League.

A half marathon and 10k around the grounds and nearby forest of Hillsborough Castle, supporting Action Mental Health. The event includes distance markers, chip timing, race photos and a themed medal.
