Trail Running calendar near Trawden 2026-2027

A 5k muddy obstacle course at Bitts Park on 05 July 2026 that raises funds for Cancer Research UK. Participants climb, crawl and slide through a predominantly flat route; entrants must be 13 or older.

A short 5 km fell race at the Langley Village Fete in the Peak District, featuring about 198 m of climb and on the day entry with a £5 fee; places are limited to 60 and parking in the village may be busy.

Enjoy a flat 1.5 mile fun run along the Methley canal towpath in Leeds. This long running community event features medals for all finishers and a specific competition for local school teams.

Join the 20 Barriers fell race in Carnforth on Tue 7 Jul 2026 for a testing 8 km with about 160 m climb across classic Bowland terrain. Entry on the day is £10 and proceeds go to local charities; the race is UK Athletics insured.

Participate in a 9 km fell race through the Durham countryside north of Stanhope. This event is part of the North East Fell Running Championships and features a 300 m climb for runners aged 18 and over.

Black Rocks Fell Race in Matlock on 8 July 2026 runs mostly on good trails with a mid race climb past Black Rocks and a total ascent of 800 feet. The event is organised by Matlock Athletic Club.

Experience a traditional FRA category AS fell race in Grasmere featuring a 7.4 km course with 700 m of elevation. This 150 runner event offers a direct ascent to Seat Sandal and a flagged descent through the Cumbrian fells.

A marked high moor fell race of about 7 miles with 366 m of climb in the South/West Pennines on 8 July 2026. Registration is at the Packhorse Inn car park, pre entry is via SiEntries and on the day entry may be limited to 120.

Take on the Borrowdale School Bash up Bessyboot in the Lake District: a short but fierce 5.2 km with 456 m of climb, offering stunning fell views and a real challenge. Entry on the day, with beer and a burger for every finisher.

Experience an undulating 6.4 mile multi terrain course through rural landscapes. This chip timed race starts and finishes at the Royton Cricket Club with full facilities available for all participants.

A category BS fell race on 9 July 2026 at Thurlstone Gala/Football Field, South Yorkshire, featuring a single-lap undulating 6.4 km course. Entry fee is £6 and prizes include age-group awards plus cash for breaking listed course records.

A two day multi sport festival at Duncombe Park combining timed trail running segments and social camping. Entry includes camping, timing chip, food vendors and live music, with a 6 km night run and 10 km, 20 km or 30 km Saturday routes.

A 5 km multi-terrain adventure run and obstacle course in Holme Village on 11 July 2026, open to ages 12 and over. Part of the Festival of Sport weekend with a Fantasy theme and family activities.

Races run from Slaithwaite along the Huddersfield narrow gauge canal, including a 3.5 mile tunnel. Four distances from 5k to marathon with feed stations roughly every three miles and marshals along the route.

A multi-distance trail event in Ambleside with 100k, 55k, 23k and 14k routes through Lake District trails. Ultra races are fully waymarked and marshalled with compulsory kit checks, feed stations and GPS tracking options.

Wasdale Fell Race is a long, alpine fell event in the Lake District on 11 July 2026 covering about 34 km with 2750 m ascent. Full FRA kit and a provided tracker are mandatory and several checkpoints have published time limits.

Take on the New Embsay Fell Race on Sat 11 Jul: a punchy 2.5 mile course with 195 m of climb through the Yorks Dales. Part of the village fete, enjoy entertainment and refreshments and easy on the day entry for a fun community challenge.

Take on the Charlesworth & Chisworth Carnival Fell Race on Sat 11 Jul 2026 in the Peak District, a testing 5 km / 3.1 mile course with 180 m of climb. Pre entry and entry on the day plus junior races make this a great community running day.

A point to point trail event on 11 July 2026 from near Osmotherley to Ravenscar covering just over 40 miles. The unmarked route is run on a handicap basis and requires mandatory navigation and safety kit.
