The Cheshire Ring Ultra 100 Mile takes place 26-27 September 2026 around Manchester, with the start and finish at The Piazza, MediaCity, Salford Quays. The race is organised by GB Ultras and held under a UKA permit via the Trail Running Association. The course distance is 102 miles with 345 m of elevation. The field is limited to 250 places and the overall cut-off for the event is 30 hours. Entry information notes an earlybird fee of £199 and a small discount for UKA affiliated club members. Participants must be at least 20 years old on race day and must have completed an ultramarathon of at least 50 miles prior to the event.

Course, support and rules

The route links multiple canals including the Bridgewater, Ashton, Rochdale, Peak Forest, Trent & Mersey and Macclesfield canals and is marked with 11 checkpoints. Checkpoints provide food and drinks with vegan and vegetarian options, hot food at some indoor locations, and medical or first-aid cover. A GB Race Tracker GPS device is mandatory and provides live tracking with an SOS function; trackers remain the organiser’s property and may incur a replacement charge if lost. Two dropbag locations are provided (CP7 and CP10) with size and weight limits (max 50 L, 8 kg). A single pacer is permitted from CP7 onwards and must be self-sufficient and carry mandatory kit. The mandatory kit list includes a waterproof coat with sealed seams, long-sleeve base layer, 1 L water capacity, charged mobile phone, survival bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens), whistle, backup light (min 25 lumens), and the GPS tracker.
