Cheshire Ring Ultra 100 Mile : 27–28 September 2025

The Cheshire Ring Ultra 100 Mile takes place 27–28 September 2025. The event covers 100 miles with listed elevation of 345 m and is staged in the Manchester area. Entry is limited to 200 places and the event has a 30 hour overall cut-off. It is held under a UKA permit via the Trail Running Association. Entry conditions include a qualifying ultramarathon of at least 50 miles and a minimum age requirement of 20 years. The official start and finish venue is The Piazza, Media City, Salford Quays.

Course, support and rules

The route links a series of canals including the Bridgewater, Ashton, Rochdale, Peak Forest, Trent & Mersey and Macclesfield canals and is marked with 11 checkpoints along the course. Checkpoints provide drinks, hot food at village-hall locations, vegan and vegetarian options, and a medical or first responder presence. Dropbags are permitted at Checkpoint 7 (48 miles), Checkpoint 10 (78 miles) and at the finish; bags must be 50 L or smaller. A GB Race Tracker GPS device is issued at registration and is mandatory for all entrants; live online tracking is provided. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and may be checked; examples include a waterproof coat, long-sleeve base layer in a dry bag, 1 L water capacity, charged mobile phone, survival/thermal bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens), whistle and a backup light (min 25 lumens). One pacer per runner is allowed from the halfway point at Checkpoint 7 and support-crew access is restricted at specified locations. Cut-off times at checkpoints are enforced.
