Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield

Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield is a fell running event on Sunday 20 September 2026 in Hayfield. The event is part of a four-race series around the Peak District that uses a score format and a three hour time limit for each race. Competitors receive a waterproof map with control descriptions and points values and then choose their own route to visit as many controls as possible within the time allowed. Points are lost for lateness.

The series covers a variety of terrain from high moorland requiring accurate navigation to more runnable limestone dales with a network of footpaths. The event emphasises route choice and navigation skills. SiTiming is used for timing and results.

Entrants may compete solo or as a pair. There are 15 competition categories including solo, pairs and mixed pairs. For pairs the category is based on the age of the older runner. Age on 31/12/2026 determines category and the minimum age for solo or paired junior competitors is 14. In parent or guardian pairs the adult must be over 21.

To be eligible for series prizes an entrant must complete at least two races. Prizes are awarded to first, second and third in each category, except where a category has six or fewer entries only first place will be awarded. Dogs are not allowed. The event is organised by Explorer Events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
