Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield

Peak Raid Race 1 is a fell running score event held in Hayfield on 20 September 2026. The format gives competitors three hours to visit as many controls as possible on a supplied waterproof map; points are awarded for controls and deducted for lateness. The event uses SiTiming and allows route choice across Peak District hills, moors and dales.

This race is the first of a four-event series. Other rounds are scheduled for 18 October 2026 (Edale), 15 November 2026 (Eastern Moors South) and 6 December 2026 (Alstonefield). Entrants may compete solo or as a pair. The minimum age is 14 and age category is determined by age on 31/12/2026; for pairs the category is based on the oldest competitor. Where one runner in a pair is under 18, the other must be over 21 and be the parent or guardian or a nominated accompanying adult over 21.

Entries open 11 February 2026 and close 17 September 2026. Early, standard and late entry fees range from £20 to £25, with a £2 reduction for FRA members. Prizes require completion of at least two races; awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category, though categories with six or fewer entrants receive only 1st prize.

Competitors must carry FRA mandatory minimum kit: waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Kit will be checked on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
