Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield

Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield is the first race in a four race series held in the Peak District on 20 September 2026. The event uses a score format with a three hour time limit; competitors choose their own route between controls on moorland, dales and other varied terrain. The event uses SiTiming and offers solo and pairs entries.

Navigation and route choice are part of the challenge. Competitors receive a waterproof map and a control description with points values and must plan which controls to visit to collect the most points within the three hour limit. Competitors lose points for returning late.

Entry details include a minimum age of 14 and a series entry structure with early bird, standard and late fees from £20, £22 and £25 respectively; FRA members receive a £2 reduction. Pairs may enter any category and the age category for a pair is determined by the oldest competitor. To be eligible for series prizes, entrants must complete at least two races; prizes are awarded to first, second and third places in each category, with only first place awarded if six or fewer competitors appear in a category.

All competitors must carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit: waterproof whole body cover (jacket and trousers with taped seams and integrated attached hood), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Kit checks are carried out on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
