Altra 13 Valleys Ultra

Altra 13 Valleys Ultra is a multi-day trail running event in the Lake District National Park, held 25 to 27 September 2026 in partnership with the National Park. The event links the 13 valleys recognised in the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage designation and the full 13 Valleys route is available year-round to walkers and runners.

Routes combine fell and lake-side trail running with regular check points and feed stations. Reported course details vary by distance: the longest route lists highest point 800 m+, total ascent about 7000 m and 12 feed stations with a 46.5 hour cut-off; the 110.3 km course lists c. 3800 m ascent, 7 feed stations and a 28 hour cut-off; the 58.4 km course lists c. 2500 m ascent, 3 feed stations, is waymarked and has a 19 hour cut-off; the 22.4 km trail lists c. 500 m ascent, 1 feed station, is waymarked and has an 8 hour cut-off. Several events start and finish in Keswick or at Waterhead, depending on distance.

The event is registered with the International Trail Running Association with up to 6 ITRA points awarded to finishers depending on distance. The 7 Valleys and 13 Valleys races are official Western States qualifiers. Five percent of every entry fee is donated to the Lake District Foundation. Part of the Threlkeld village fete in the Lake District on Mon 25 May 2026, this fell race covers 5 km with 340 m of ascent over rough ground. Entry on the day is available for £5 and the event has FRA permit insurance.

OMM Lite in Grasmere is a map based navigation event over one or two days where solo runners or teams locate numbered checkpoints to score points, with timing chips, live tracking, bespoke maps and a post event hot meal included.

Two category A fell races around the head of the Duddon Valley presenting long and short mountain courses with significant ascent. Strong navigation skills and full mountain kit are required.

A 10 mile fell race in the Lake District with about 3000 feet of climb over Dow and Caw. It is a category A event that requires navigational skill, proper kit and experience on rough mountain terrain.
