Trail Running calendar near Preston 2026-2027

A forest trail event on Sunday 29 March 2026 around Whinlatter Top with two route options, chip timing and marked courses. Dogs may run with suitable harnesses and borrowable kit is available.

Join a guided recce of the Paddy Buckley leg through the Carneddau from Ogwen Valley to Capel Curig. Cover 16 km and 1,245 m of ascent in small groups with experienced mountain leaders.

A 5 km trail race in Horwich on 1 April 2026 organised by Winter Hill Runners. Registration is at the Jolley Crofters Public House and online entry is £12 with a booking fee making the shown ticket £13.60.

A 50 mile trail race on Good Friday 3 April 2026 from Manchester to Liverpool along the Trans-Pennine Trail. The event features six checkpoints, live GPS tracking, a 14 hour cut off and limited entry; 2026 places are sold out.

Run the Pink Moon Ladies Trail on 4 April 2026, a women only half marathon through Sutton Spring Wood and along the Five Pits Trail for scenic, undulating trail running. Finishers get a medal, cake and hot drinks by the campfire.

Join the Helmsley Easter 10km on 5 April 2026 for a scenic, undulating multi terrain run through North Yorkshire supporting Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool and local Samaritans. Places are limited to 500 so book early to secure your spot.

A new urban trail race in Halifax on 6 April 2026, a course of just over 10K from Shibden Hall to Beacon Hill that runs through several landmark buildings, with proceeds supporting Overgate Hospice.
