Take on the Reston Scar Scamper at Staveley Mill Yard on Wed 24 Jun 2026, a lively 6 km fell race with 301 m of climb across fully marked Lake District trails. On the day entry is £5 and all proceeds support Staveley community projects.

Trail runs in Chopwell Woods offer mapped 5, 10 and 15 mile routes through mixed woodland with live chip timing. Finishers receive a medal, a burger or alternative, and a drink.

A return fell race from Alston playing field to Park Fell and back, covering 6.2 km with 211 m of ascent. It marks the Alston Gala 50th Anniversary and donates entry fees to the local mountain rescue team.

Two trail races at Honister Slate Mine on 27 June 2026 combine fell climbs with a 700 m underground tunnel section. Routes are flagged and marshaled, helmets and headtorches are required, and the event is open to those aged 16 and over.

An obstacle 5k at Herrington Country Park on 27 June 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide through muddy obstacles. Organised by Cancer Research UK with a minimum fundraising target of £50 and separate adult and child entry fees.

Trail Blazer Coastal Edition near Widdrington advertises a 10K course that runs closer to 12K along the Northumbrian coastal path. The day features live music, food vendors, drinks, llamas in a field, and no cut-off times.

A category 'AM' fell race near Mungrisdale covering 13K with 825m of ascent, serving as a counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships. The classic route is enforced and competitors need solid navigation and mountain-craft skills.

A chip timed approximately 10k held on the private Mulgrave Estate near Sandsend and Whitby. The woodland route passes Mulgrave Castle with coastal views; refreshments, parking and a bespoke finisher memento are provided.

A short fell race in the Lake District held as part of the Ullswater Country Fair on 28 June 2026. The 2.4 km course rises about 300 m, has a minimum age of 16 and accepts entry on the day for £5.

July 2026

Gategill Fell Race on Wed 1 Jul 2026 in the Lake District is a short steep 3.6 km climb that tests hill running and grit. On the day entries only, wear grippy shoes and enjoy refreshments as proceeds support the local community.

A mountain fell race on 1 July 2026 from Ribblehead to the top of Whernside. The 10.5 km route climbs about 468 m, follows the old hikers route and the Three Peaks walkers path back to The Station Inn.

A traditional parish boundary run and walk around Patterdale with four route options from a 28 mile full boundary to a family downhill minibeat. Entry fees support Patterdale C of E Primary School and St Patrick's Church.

A circular ultramarathon of circa 120 miles and 16,000 ft across the ten highest hills of the North York Moors, starting and finishing at Goathland village hall. The event has a 35 hour time limit and a maximum of 70 participants.

An upland trail race from Muker to Tan Hill covering about 31.7 km with nearly 3,000 ft of ascent. The route follows Coast to Coast and Pennine Way sections, includes staffed aid stations, mandatory kit checks and a 200 runner limit.

A 15.5 km upland trail race in Muker on 4 July 2026, starting near Usha Gap Campsite. The route climbs Swinner Gill, descends Gunnerside Gill and follows the Pennine Way through riverside meadows.

A 20 mile unmarked upland course from Wooler Youth Hostel that summits Cheviot and Hedgehope; navigation by map and compass is required. A separate non competitive challenge walk uses the same route with a seven hour limit.

A memorial fell race from Loweswater Village Hall across the Buttermere fells with long and short AL category courses. The tops are unflagged, full FRA kit is mandatory and navigation experience is required.

A two-day mountain navigation event in the Lake District for teams of two, held 4 to 5 July 2026 with seven courses and an overnight camp. Competitors must carry required camping and safety kit and be competent with map and compass.

A self navigated mountain trail event following about 37 miles of the Pennine Way between Bowlees and Alston YHA, featuring waterfalls, reservoirs and high tops including Crossfell. The event includes transfer bus and limited places.
