Hardmoors 60

The Hardmoors 60 is a long distance trail race on Saturday 19th September 2026 covering approximately 63 miles along the Cleveland Way from Guisborough to Filey. The course runs mainly on coastal paths and passes Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough before finishing in Filey. Total ascent is listed as 8,202 ft / 2,500 m.

Competitors have an overall time limit of 18 hours to complete the course. Entries close on Friday 21st August 2026 and fees start from £122. A tracker is included with entry and will be issued at registration for location monitoring. Dogs are not permitted at the event.

There are multiple manned checkpoints and water stations along the route. Checkpoint locations include Guisborough Rugby Club at the start, Highcliff Nab, Saltburn Bandstand, Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Hornblower Lodge (water only), Ravenscar St Hilda's Church, Scarborough Holbeck Carpark and Filey Methodist Church at the finish. Water is available at manned checkpoints and food is provided at several locations. Organisers do not supply disposable plastic cups so runners should bring their own cup.

Mandatory equipment must be carried for the duration of the race. Required items include hat or bandana and gloves, a waterproof jacket, a spare warm top, two headtorches or a headtorch plus spare torch and batteries, a paper map, whistle, survival bag, survival blanket, mobile phone with spare power, safety pins and at least 0.5 litre of drink. Competitors may leave up to two non returnable drop bags for specified checkpoints; drop bags must be no larger than a supermarket carrier bag.
