The Hardmoors 60 is an ultramarathon on Saturday 19 September 2026. The course follows the Cleveland Way from Guisborough to Filey and runs mainly along the Cleveland coast through Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough. The route distance is approximately 62 miles with about 8,202 ft / 2,500 m of ascent. Competitors have an 18 hour time limit to complete the course. The event limit is 300 entries and dogs are not allowed.

Route, logistics and rules

The race starts at Guisborough Rugby Club and finishes at Filey Methodist Church. Manned checkpoints are located at Highcliff Nab, Saltburn Bandstand, Runswick Bay (top car park), Sandsend car park, Hornblower Lodge (water only), Ravenscar (St Hilda's Church) and Scarborough (Holbeck car park). Water and basic food are provided at most manned checkpoints; Skinningrove and Crookness are possible extra water spots. Competitors may leave two non-returnable drop bags (Runswick Bay ~21 miles and Ravenscar ~40 miles). A personal tracker is included with entry. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket, hat or bandana and gloves, a headtorch with spare battery, a paper map, whistle, survival bag or foil blanket, mobile phone and at least 0.5 litre of drink. No plastic cups will be supplied at checkpoints. Support crew access is restricted in some locations. Relay teams may include 2 to 4 runners. There are no refunds for cancellation; place transfers or a one-time deferral to the following year are allowed up to four weeks before the event.
