Race rules and kit

All routes are not fully marked; competitors receive downloadable route descriptions, maps and GPX files and must navigate themselves. Foot sweepers and marshals operate on the course; if a runner retires they should go to the next checkpoint for assistance.

Mandatory kit is required for all races and will be checked. Required items include a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, spare long-sleeved base layer, 500 ml water or sports drink, printed route description and map, emergency survival bag and foil blanket, whistle and a way to attach the race number. Marathon runners must also carry a headtorch. The event is cupless at checkpoints. Prize categories cover male, female, veteran age groups and non-binary entrants. Several entry and refund rules apply, including no standard refunds or deferrals; transfers are limited by closing dates and race full status.
