Hardmoors 26.2: Roseberry is a trail race day on Sunday 30 August 2026 held from the Sea Cadets Hall, Belmangate, Guisborough, TS14 7AQ. The event is one in the Hardmoors 26.2 series of six trail marathons. The race has a maximum field of 400 participants. Three distances are offered: 30, 14.5 and 9. Reported ascent for the three courses is 4,850 ft, 3,200 ft and 1,600 ft respectively. Time limits are 10 hours for the longest race, 5 hours for the middle distance and 3 hours for the shortest.

Course, navigation and compulsory kit

Courses are not taped or signed; downloadable route descriptions, maps and GPX files are provided and competitors must carry printed copies. There will be marshalls at road crossings and foot sweepers on all races. If a runner retires they must go to the next checkpoint so race staff can arrange collection. The organiser is cupless at checkpoints; runners should bring a cup.

Mandatory kit requirements include a waterproof jacket (with taped seams), hat, gloves, at least 500 ml of water or sports drink to carry, printed route description and map, an emergency survival bag and foil blanket, and means to attach a race number (safety pins, race belt or clips). Failure to carry compulsory kit will prevent participation.

General entries open 2 November 2025 and close 14 August 2026. Entry fees are listed per distance and affiliation: Marathon £49 attached / £51 unattached; Half Marathon £36 attached / £38 unattached; 10k £28 attached / £30 unattached.
