Routes are not taped or signed; competitors must navigate using the downloadable route descriptions, maps and GPX files and are requested to carry printed copies. There will be foot sweepers and marshalls at road crossings. The event requires mandatory safety kit to be carried for all distances, including a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, survival bag and a printed route description; additional items are specified for the full marathon. A 5 mile night trail race through single tracks and forest trails in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire. Organised by Trail Blazing Events with tickets priced at £16.90.

Explore Wilton Woods and Lazenby Bank East at a regional orienteering event on Sunday 25 January 2026. Varied courses for all abilities, car sharing encouraged, and a few on the day entries may be available subject to map availability.

Hardmoors 26.2 Saltburn features scenic but rugged circular trails of 28, 14.5 and 7.5 miles along the North York Moors coast with big climbs and sea views. Bring maps and mandatory kit and finishers get a medal.

Take on the Cod Beck Canter on Sun 1 Feb 2026 in the North York Moors: a 16.5 km moorland route with 573 m of climb from Ingleby Cross Village Hall. Entry on the day, minimum age 18, promises tough terrain and great views.
