SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge is a trail run situated in the North York Moors National Park. Now in its fifth year, the event covers a distance of approximately 13.1 miles. The route follows a variety of terrain including forest tracks and heather-clad moorland. A central feature of the course is Roseberry Topping, historically known as Othnesbery, which runners must ascend multiple times.
The race has a strict cut-off time of 5 hours. Participants will find the course marked with flags and supported by marshals at various points. A checkpoint is provided along the route stocked with water, soft drinks, and snacks, with similar refreshments available at the end of the race. All participants must be at least 16 years old to enter.
Specific mandatory kit is required for all runners, including a waterproof jacket with taped seams, a hat, gloves, and an emergency bivvy bag. Navigational tools such as a working compass, a charged mobile phone, and an OS Explorer 26 or Harvey’s North York Moors map are also necessary. Additionally, runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid and 120 grams of emergency food.

Registration takes place at the car park located below Roseberry Topping. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a certificate of achievement. Dogs are permitted to participate but must remain on a lead and will start the race after the main group of runners.
