Othnesbery’s Revenge Half Marathon is a trail half marathon on Sunday 16 August 2026 in the North York Moors National Park. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and goes via forest tracks and heather-clad moorland, including an ascent of Roseberry Topping (also called Othnesbery). The event is organised by SilverBack Trails and is in its 5th year. There is a 4.5 hour cut off. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a certificate.

Practical information

Entries open 1 December 2025 and close 10 August 2026. Entry fee is £20. Places are limited to 50 runners; there are no entries on the day. No refunds are given, but transfers are allowed up to one week before the event. Parking is in the car park below Roseberry Topping and participants are responsible for parking charges. A course GPX will be issued to entrants; marshals and flags will also help with navigation. Aid stations on course and at the finish provide water, fizzy drinks and snacks.

Mandatory kit and rules

All entrants must be 16 or older on the day and sign a disclaimer confirming they carry mandatory kit. Minimum kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff or gloves, emergency bivvy bag, charged mobile phone with mapping apps, at least 500 ml fluid and 120 g emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 26 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Spot checks may be made and anyone without required kit may be withdrawn. Dogs are allowed if kept on a lead and they will start after other participants.
