SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge Half Marathon

SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held on 16 August 2026 in the North York Moors National Park. The course is circa 13.1 miles and passes along forest tracks, over heather-clad moorland and includes repeated climbs of Othnesbery, more usually known as Roseberry Topping. The moorland in August is expected to be purple with heather. The route includes a notable section at Odin's Seat described in event material as a sting in the tail.

The event is in its fifth year and is limited to 50 participants. There is a five hour cut off. Registration takes place at the car park below Roseberry Topping. No entries are available on the day. Transfers are permitted up to one week before the event and refunds are not given. Entry fee listed is £20.00 and an optional event technical T shirt is available for purchase at £18.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a certificate that features part of the route. The course will be marked with flags and marshals and each entrant will receive a GPX file plus a master route map at registration.

Mandatory kit is required and may be spot checked; items listed by the organiser include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, emergency bivvy, charged mobile with mapping, at least 500 ml fluid and 120 g emergency food, a working compass and an OS map. Dogs are allowed on a lead and will start after other participants. Participants are responsible for their own parking charges. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
