SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge Half Marathon

SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held in the North York Moors National Park on 16 August 2026. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and runs over forest tracks and heather clad moorland, including repeated ascents of Roseberry Topping, locally known as Othnesbery. A notable feature of the route is a steep section called Odin's Seat which serves as a final challenge near the end of the course.

The event is limited to 50 entrants and has a five hour cut off. Minimum age on race day is 16. Entries open on 1 December 2025 and close on 10 August 2026; there are no entries on the day and transfers are permitted up to one week before the event. Entry fee is £20.

Runners will receive a bespoke finisher medal and a certificate that includes part of the route. Aid provision includes a checkpoint with water, fizzy drinks and snacks, and the same provision at the finish. The course will be supported by marshals and flag markers; entrants receive a GPX file and a master route map will be available at registration. Mandatory kit is required and may be spot checked; items include a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless using Paramo, hat or buff, gloves, emergency bivvy, charged mobile phone with mapping apps recommended, at least 500 ml fluid, at least 120 g emergency food, working compass and the OS Explorer 26 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. An all night trail run across the North York Moors, the Lamplighter 40 follows a circular route from Goathland Village Hall from sunset to sunrise. Trackers, GPX and checkpoint refreshments are provided and entries are limited to 40.

Traverse the scenic Cleveland Hills in this 77.3 km ultra marathon from Ingleby Cross to Robin Hood Bay. Runners have 15 hours to complete the course featuring over 1700 meters of ascent through North Yorkshire.

A seven hour timed trail event along the River Wear in Durham with fully signed laps and multiple distance options. Finishers from 3 km receive a themed medal and there are aid tables, goody bags and distance pins.
