SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge Half Marathon

SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held on 16 August 2026 in the North York Moors National Park. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and runs over forest tracks and heather clad moorland. The route includes multiple ascents and descents and crosses Roseberry Topping, also referred to as Othnesbery or Odin’s Seat, a locally recognisable hill with historic links to Norse settlement.

The event is now in its fifth year and is limited to 50 runners. There is a five hour cut off time. Marshalling and route flags will be in place and each entrant will receive a GPX file; a master route map is available at registration. Aid is provided at a control point with water, fizzy drink, snacks and sweets, and similar refreshments are available at the finish. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a certificate that shows part of the route.

Entrants must be 16 or older on the event date. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff or gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a charged mobile phone with mapping where possible, at least 500 ml of fluid and 120 g of emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 26 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Spot checks may be made and competitors without required kit may be withdrawn. No entries are accepted on the day. Transfers are permitted up to one week before the event and no refunds are offered.
