Trail Running calendar near Manchester 2026-2027

Join the Calton Crawl on Tue 9 Jun 2026 in the Peak District for an energetic 8.5 km trail run with 244 m of climb, offering great views and a proper challenge. Friendly village hall base and day entries welcome for a low cost event.

Tackle the Coppice fell race in Accrington on Tue 9 Jun 2026, a spirited 6.6 km course with 310 m of climb starting from the Whitakers Arms. Day entry only means it is ideal for last minute plans and teams are welcome.

A 5 mile charity trail run in Epperstone on 9 June 2026 raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. The undulating course includes a short hill, offers individual and club prizes, and is limited to 375 entrants.

Two off road races of 5km and 10km thread through fields, farms and woodland around Kirkby Fleetham and finish at the village hall. Routes are waymarked and mostly flat, open to participants aged 16 and above.

An evening trail event at Wentworth Castle Gardens on 10 June 2026 with 5 km and 10 km courses, live chip timing, and free on site parking. The event is canicross friendly and finishers receive a medal and snack.

A short fell race near Mold covering 5.6 km with 366 m of climb on a partially marked route. Day entry is £4 and the minimum age is over 16.

A 5 mile multi terrain trail race in Longdendale valley with two loops around Valehouse reservoir, held at United Utilities Visitor Centre in Tintwistle on 10 June 2026. Entry is limited to 300 runners and competitors must be at least 15 ye..

The The Yomp - Sunset Stroll will take place in Kirkby Stephen on Friday 12 June 2026.

A multi terrain 11.2 km race and a chip timed family fun run at Gnosall Family Sports Club on 13 June 2026. The course follows canal towpath, farmland, woodland and a boardwalk and includes technical shirts, medals and official timing.

A non-stop, 268 mile summer race along the Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm with a 156 hour time limit. The route has over 10,700 m ascent, staffed checkpoints offering food, shelter and medical support, and an entry fee of £995.

An out and back trail race from Otley to Pateley Bridge on the Six Dales Trail, offered in 13, 20 and 32 mile options with checkpoints, mandatory kit and tracker provision for ultras; finishers receive a medal and event T shirt.

A short fell race at Beckside Farm in Ulverston on 13 June 2026 featuring a climb to the top of Flan Fell and separate turning points for Under 14 and older categories.

Manchester Backyard Ultra at Giants Seat Scout Camp is a timed-loop endurance event on 13 June 2026. Runners repeat a roughly 6.7 km loop each hour until one runner remains; a torch is required for night laps.

A timed, multi-lap event at Chorlton Water Park using a 5.3 km out and back course along the River Mersey. Runners can cover one lap up to an ultra within a seven hour limit and all participants receive a finishers' medal.

Run the 9.5 km Wincle Trout fell race in the Peak District, featuring a 320 m climb and a river crossing. The event is part of the lively Wincle Village Fete. A shorter 3 km junior race is also available.

A self-navigated fell run and challenge walk of 24 miles through Swaledale on 13 June 2026 with a 10 hour time limit. Minimum age 14 and those aged 14 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Yomp Mountain Challenge will take place in Kirkby Stephen on Saturday 13 June 2026. You can run 20 kilometers.

A two-day trail running weekend in Grizedale Forest with an eight hour relay and a 22 km race, plus camping, food vendors, talks and onsite facilities.
