Trail Running calendar near Farsley 2026-2027

A club organised event on 20 August 2026 at Whitehills Nature Park offering a flat two lap gravel course with chip timing. Senior and junior races run under UK Athletics rules with age categories and listed entry fees.

A self navigated trail event around Edale in the Peak District with ultra, marathon, half and 10 mile options. Routes use rough paths, rocky descents and a waterfall and include long self supported sections between checkpoints.

Trail half marathon and 10k around Carsington Water on 22 August 2026, run on marked trail paths with marshals and an event village. GPX files are available for both courses.

A second edition fell event around Hartsop covering 19.5 km with 1370 m of ascent, featuring multiple checkpoints and steep technical descents. The route requires careful line choices and includes rockier sections above Haweswater.

A lapped towpath event on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal offering five distances, on-course feed stations, marshals and finisher food and medals in Kirkstall, Leeds.

Timed laps around a flat 5.3 km out and back course on the River Mersey in Chorlton Water Park. This final race in a 2026 Summer Series supports The Animal Sanctuary Wilmslow and includes a bespoke finisher's medal.

A short fell race in Burnsall with a steep 274 m climb over 2.4 km. Entry on the day is available for £6 and junior races run alongside village sports.

A multi terrain fell race at Gargrave Show with river crossings, woodland, open moor and a steep ascent of Sharphaw. Events run for juniors through seniors; race entry is free while show admission is charged.

A chip-timed, fully signposted circular fell race of 30 km on footpaths, bridleways and roads around Belper on 23 August 2026. The route includes Roman roads, ancient woodland and sections of the Midshires Way.

Multi distance trail event in Preston on 23 August 2026, with 10k, half, marathon and ultra options on mainly hard surfaced park paths. Aid stations, bespoke medals and a six hour time limit are included.

A five mile trail race at Pennington Flash on 23 August 2026, organised by Leigh Harriers at Leigh Sports Village. The event is licenced by TRA and held under UK Athletics rules, with separate affiliated and unaffiliated entry prices.

A single-lap, multi-terrain trail race of about 7 miles through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park in Leeds, organised by Valley Striders AC with on-site facilities, age-group prizes and fundraising for St Gemma’s Hospice.

A Backyard Ultra style 12 hour event at Cadwell Park where runners complete a 6.7 km lap each hour for a potential total of 80.4 km. Categories include solo and pairs plus a six hour non competitive option.

Rumble In The Jumble V is a six hour challenge in Penistone with out-and-back laps along an old railway line, offering distances from 5K to ultra. Aid stations, a choice of medals and a goody bag are provided.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

Tackle Roseberry Topping on Wed 26 Aug 2026 in this classic short fell race hosted from Newton under Roseberry. Expect a punchy 2.3 km course with big climb and great views, junior entries welcome and on the day entry available.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

A pop up evening running event in Kirkstall, Leeds offering 5k and 10k routes along canal-side paths. Entry is available on the night or online and runners receive a jumble medal plus food and drink options.

A scenic 10 km trail race through Derwent Walk Country Park near Newcastle and Gateshead on 29 August 2026. The event features chip timing, finishers medals, street food and onsite amenities at Blaydon Rugby Club.
