Meanwood Valley Trail Race 2026
The Meanwood Valley Trail Race, organised by Valley Striders AC, takes place on Sunday 23rd August 2026 in Alwoodley and Meanwood, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The route covers approximately 7 miles of woods and parkland, running through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park and passing landmarks such as one of the "Seven Arches", the ‘Slabbering Baby’ and the tunnel under the Leeds Outer Ring Road. The course is multi-terrain and undulating, run as a single lap from and back to Old Leo's Rugby Club.
Prizes are awarded to the first three finishers men and women and to male and female age groups from 40 up in five-year bands, based on chip times. Entry is limited to 450 runners. Entry fees are quoted at £18 for affiliated club members and £20 for unaffiliated runners; on-the-day entry is higher and entries close at 11:00 on Saturday 22nd August. Fundraising for St Gemma’s Hospice features alongside the event's usual charities.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing rooms, showers, water and baggage storage, with refreshments available at Leo's after the race. There are no distance markers on course, the event is not suitable for wheelchairs, and trail or fell shoes are strongly recommended. Parking is limited so alternative travel or car sharing is suggested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
