A downhill fell race of 4 km from Moel Famau summit to Cilcain with about 350 m descent. The route is partially marked, for competitors over 16, and is insured by the WFRA; donations are collected at the White Horse in Cilcain.

A two hour night navigation event near Rosebush featuring a *16 km* woodland route with 660 m climb, a pre-marked map, compulsory kit and required navigation experience. Entry is online with a £10 fee.

A winter trail event in Mortimer Forest offering an approximately 10-mile mixed-terrain race and a shorter 4-mile route, both featuring a climb to High Vinnalls, muddy trails, and a downhill finish with long-range views.

January 2027

A 5k multi terrain loop from the caravan park and cafe at Llanbenwch near Ruthin. The route mixes minor roads and trails, is electronically timed, awards category prizes and gives all finishers a medal.

The The Holly Challenge will take place in Lightmoor on Saturday 23 January 2027. You can run between 5 and 42 kilometers.

February 2027

A backyard ultra near Crickhowell on a 4.167 mile loop combining trail and tarmac. First eleven loops must be completed each within an hour and a final lap is raced to determine the winner.

A 50 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester on 27 February 2027, covering 849 m of ascent with seven checkpoints and live GPS tracking. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and has a 17 hour cut off.

March 2027

Marked trail runs in the Black Mountains from Crickhowell, Powys, with 10, 20 and 40 mile options, stocked checkpoints, mandatory kit checks and cut off times of 5, 8 and 16 hours respectively.

Trail races at Loggerheads Country Park in March 2027 offering 5k, 5k canicross and a new 10km route. Varied terrain, riverside paths and a staircase section add distinctive challenges.

A weekend trail running festival at Brynkinalt Estate offering 5k and 10k routes, canicross on Saturday and standard running on Sunday. Scenic estate routes, medals, prizes and a charity partner.

A 32 mile ultra from Powis Estate in Welshpool to Caffi Wylfa in Chirk, featuring a mix of flat fast sections and undulating footpaths, aid stations near 11 and 21 miles, finishers plates and prizes for top male and female finishers.

A running event in Lytham on 14 March 2027 with a 5.24 mile coastal loop along the Ribble estuary. Competitors may complete as many laps as they wish within a six hour limit and receive an official time and a finisher medal.
