Tenacious Ten Hour Endurance Challenge
The event is a timed 10 hour endurance race held on Mynydd Troed in the Black Mountains of Wales, near Talgarth, Powys. The course is a short, fully marked 2.7 mile loop that includes more than 1000 ft of elevation gain per lap. The route features false summits, a steep climb to the summit, runnable sections, technical steep downhills and open common trails.
The first lap is run clockwise; after that participants may choose direction. Two clip stations are placed on the course, at the trig point and at the base of the mountain, and runners use a laminated card to confirm completed laps. A strict 10 hour cut off is in place; any lap not completed before the final bell will not be recorded.
Entry is open to solo runners, pairs and teams of four. Minimum age is 17. Entry fees are listed as Solo £60, Pair £110 and Team of 4 £170. Team results are the collective number of loops completed even if a team member withdraws. Organisers state that strict rules apply and that medics may deem a participant unable to continue; continuation in that case is at the participant's own risk.
Mandatory kit is required and will be confirmed by organisers according to weather. Onsite provisions include refreshments, toilets, parking, a full medical team, a refuel zone, prizes, a bespoke medal and online results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
