Tenacious Ten Hour Endurance Challenge

The event is a 10 hour endurance race held on Mynydd Troed in the Black Mountains of Wales. Competitors repeat a short but steep 2.7 mile loop that includes more than 1000 ft of elevation per lap and varied terrain described as technical and strenuous. The first lap runs clockwise; after that each participant may choose direction, with the route order reversing if run anti clockwise. The course is fully marked and includes two clip stations, one at the trig point and one at the base, where a laminated card is clipped to confirm each completed lap.

Entries are accepted for solo runners, pairs and teams of four. Entry fees listed are Solo £60, Pair £110 and Team of 4 £170. The minimum age is 17 or older. A strict 10 hour cutoff applies; laps not completed before the final bell are not recorded. Team totals count collective laps and teams continue under a last man standing approach; teams must be named.

Mandatory kit is required and will be weather dependent; items indicated include waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest with capacity to carry water, telephone, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, first aid kit and foil blanket. Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets, parking, a full medical team, a refuel zone and online results. The first prize is a handcrafted Welsh slate trophy. The course record stands at 17 laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
