Heart of Wales Line (HOWL) Trail Run

The Heart of Wales Line (HOWL) Trail Run is a fully supported trail running event held in May 2027 that follows sections of the Heart of Wales Line Trail between Llandrindod Wells and Craven Arms. The event highlights the route's landscapes, local communities and railway heritage.

The long distance trail is way-marked using roundels, finger posts and signs that carry a distinctive viaduct logo. The trail was opened in Spring 2019 and passes through areas of Shropshire, Powys, Carmarthenshire, Brecon Beacons National Park, and the City and County of Swansea.

For its inaugural hosting there are three distances available. Distances are clearly signposted along the route and the event is described as fully supported.
