Trail Running calendar near Criggion 2026-2027

Two route choices of 26.2 and 14.3 miles through the Western Peak District around Axe Edge and the Goyt Valley, starting and finishing at Buxton Community School.

A 7 hour Time Challenge at Dare Valley Country Park with flexible distances from 3 km to ultramarathon options. Finishers receive a themed medal, distance pins and refreshments including doughnuts and ice cream.

Looped 5.64 km event at Hardwick Hall Estate on 3 September 2026 with a six hour lap option and bespoke finisher medals; field limited to 150 runners.

A 20.3 mile Peak District walk/run with 850 m ascent, a signposted route via Eyam and Chatsworth, and proceeds supporting outdoor learning at Thornbridge Outdoors.

Uphill only 10 km from Ruthin to Moel Famau finishing above 550 m, featuring varied trails, a steep final gully and an optional bus return to Ruthin.

A traditional cross country race in Dovedale with a 4 3/4 mile main course, a 1 1/4 mile Mini Dash for children, and a river crossing at the Stepping Stones.

A junior fell running race in the Pennines for ages 6 and up. The 2 km course starts near a classic pub. Entry is available on the day.

A MacTuffX fitness race in Brierley Hill on 4 October 2026 combining 10 Xercises with 400m or 800m running formats for solo, doubles, or five person relays and a LITE weight option.

An off-road runners and walkers event on an approximately 10 mile Charnwood countryside route with water stops, refreshments and separate junior options on 4 October 2026.

A beginner friendly off road 10 km along the River Wye from Ross on Wye with nearby facilities, parking and a bespoke finisher medal; postponed until 4 October 2026.

A six hour multi-lap off road event at Sence Valley Forest Park where participants complete 3.3 mile laps at their own pace, with canicross allowed and options for a medal or tree token.

A six-hour timed trail event in Cuerden Valley featuring 5 km laps, half and full marathon options, on-course aid, medals, and a donation to the park.

Inflatable 5K in Cheltenham on 10 October 2026 features giant inflatables across 2.5 km laps with 2.5k, 5k, 10k and 15k options, music zones, medals and family rules.

A 32 mile trail through the Cambrian Mountains from Camp Plas near Dolanog, capped at 100 runners and fully marked with checkpoints and a 14 hour cut off. The weekend includes on-site camping, catering, live music and lakeside activities.

A self navigated 55 km circular ultra through the Forest of Dean on 10 October 2026 with GPX navigation, aid stations, HQ at Beechenhurst and a canicross category.

Tideswell Terminator is a Peak District fell race on 10 October 2026, covering 9.1 km with 283 m of climb across scenic hills. Pre entry only, age 18 plus, this short course is a bracing test for fell runners.

Second edition trail half marathon from Drone Valley Brewery in Derbyshire, with varied terrain, about 1,700 feet ascent, a finisher medal and a free pint voucher.
