Trail Running calendar near Gretna Green 2026-2027

Three trail routes start from The Barn in Kirkby Lonsdale, using local footpaths and river paths with refreshments, GPX support for longer routes, and entry fees from £10. Entries run 23 December 2025 to 15 June 2026.

A 65 km loop from the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale with 2000 m of ascent, mainly on footpaths and bridleways. Self-navigation is required, there are two checkpoints, and finishers receive food and a beer.

A 7.2 km hill race with 510 m of ascent across the three Eildon Hills, starting and finishing at Gibson Park, Melrose on 20 June 2026. Online entry only with early bird and standard prices and cash prizes for age category winners.

A 10k trail in the Due North series that climbs from Arncliffe onto Arncliffe Moor, follows the moor for about 3 km and finishes downhill with views toward Kilnsey Crag and the villages of Starbotton and Kettlewell.

Gowbarrow Round is a 7.6 km fell race in the Lake District on Sat 20 Jun 2026. Entry is on the day only with a £5 fee and a minimum age of 16. The event is based at The Royal Hotel, Dockray, and carries FRA permit insurance.

A seven hour timed trail event along the River Wear in Durham with fully signed laps and multiple distance options. Finishers from 3 km receive a themed medal and there are aid tables, goody bags and distance pins.

A BOFRA Championship fell race in Hawkswick, Littondale, featuring a short 2.25 km route with about 170 m of climb from ridge out-and-back terrain. Age categories run from under 9 to seniors and parking is £3.

A 7 hour trail Time Challenge on Sunday 21 June 2026 in Durham along the River Wear with cathedral views. Distances range from a 3 km minimum up to marathon, 50 km and ultra, with medals, pins and goody bags for finishers.

A 11.3 km fell race around the limestone hills above Settle on 21 June 2026, with 600 m of climb and flagged routes. The event hosts the Yorkshire Senior and Under 23 Championships and is run under FRA rules.

An 11 km loop from YHA Windermere around Baystones and Wansfell with about 500 m of ascent. Held on 21 June 2026, post race refreshments are provided and all profits go to YHA Breaks.

A trail running event in Teesdale on 21 June 2026 offering 3.5, 9 and 15 mile marked courses with marshals, aid stations, finish mementos and post-run yoga, held from the TCR Hub in Barnard Castle.

The Fellrunner at Windy Gyle is a rugged 13.7 km test with 549 m of climb across scenic Northumberland hills on Sun 21 Jun 2026. Entry on the day is welcome with modest fees for members and non members.

An 8.8 km fell race near Haweswater in the Lake District with 244 m of climb, open to runners aged 16 and over. Entry is on the day for £5 and the race is part of the Bampton Village Sports Day and Fete.

A 5 km muddy obstacle course through The Meadows in Edinburgh on 21 June 2026 with climbs, crawls and slides on mainly grassy ground. Organised by Cancer Research UK; participants must be 13 or older and a minimum fundraising target applies..

A 4.7 mile handicapped race from Oxton to Lauder on 23 June 2026 with off road and road sections. Entry includes bus transport and a full buffet and entries close 19 June 2026.

Take on the Reston Scar Scamper at Staveley Mill Yard on Wed 24 Jun 2026, a lively 6 km fell race with 301 m of climb across fully marked Lake District trails. On the day entry is £5 and all proceeds support Staveley community projects.

A three day outdoor festival at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway from 26 to 28 June 2026 featuring enduro, gravel and trail events alongside wellness sessions and live entertainment. Results will be posted on race day.

An evening trail running festival at Calderglen Country Park on 26 June 2026, with races from a toddler dash to a 10k, chip timing, marshalled courses and an after-race buffet. A donation is made from each 5k and 10k entry.

Trail runs at Chopwell Woods near Rowlands Gill offering 5, 10 and 15 mile routes with live chip timing and canicross access. Finishers receive a medal, a burger or alternative and a drink; on-site parking is very limited.

A new 3.45 miles / 6.00 km fell race on 27 June 2026 around Kirkby-in-Furness, climbing 750 feet. The event counts for the BOFRA Championship and includes junior and senior age categories.
