Morland Half Marathon : event summary

The Morland Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 16 August 2026 and is a trail half marathon of 13.6 miles with 1330 ft of elevation. The event starts and finishes in the village of Morland near Penrith, with the event hub at Morland Village Hall CA10 3AS. Parking is available.

The route is largely off-road on mixed terrain and is partially self-navigated with some signage. It passes rivers, becks, villages in the Eden Valley, woodlands, and pastures. There are two checkpoints on course providing water and snacks.

The event allows runners and walkers aged 17 and over, and a five hour cut off applies; tail runners will support finishers. Support runners are permitted if they are self-sufficient. Dogs may take part but must be kept on a lead through livestock areas and on a short lead at the start; running with dogs in hot weather is discouraged. First aid is provided on the day.

Entry fees are listed as £39 standard and £37 affiliated; the fee includes a finishers medal, t-shirt, and checkpoint refreshments. Transfers and deferral rules apply: transfers may be made up to three weeks before the event, deferrals are limited and subject to conditions, and refunds are not offered. Race permit ARC/26/0581. The organisers offer an option to plant a tree instead of receiving a t-shirt and aim to avoid single-use plastics at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
