Lakeland Country Fair Fell Race

Little Arrow, United Kingdom • 16 Aug 2026

Fell races at Lakeland Country Fair

The Lakeland Country Fair includes fell races for both junior and senior competitors run under FRA rules. Entry to the races is free on the day but Country Fair admission must be paid. Runners register on the day and junior age groups follow FRA age definitions, with ages taken as on 31 December.

Race courses and prizes are described for each category. The senior race is a mountain course that leaves the show ground, climbs to the summit of Coniston Old Man, and returns by a similar route. Competitors may choose their own line on most of the course apart from a marked section close to the start and finish. Use of GPS as a navigational aid is not permitted in the senior race. Full kit is compulsory in accordance with FRA requirements. Participants are asked to bring their own safety pins.
