Trail Running calendar near Wath upon Dearne 2026-2027

A six-hour trail event at Beacon Hill Country Park on a **3.3 mile** loop with an uphill first half and downhill return; participants choose how many laps to complete and can run with dogs on short leads.

A 50 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester on 27 February 2027, covering 849 m of ascent with seven checkpoints and live GPS tracking. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and has a 17 hour cut off.

Trail runs at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden on 28 February 2027 offer 5km, 10km and half marathon distances with live chip timing. Canicross is allowed and finishers receive a medal, merchandise, snack and drink.

A flat out and back on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal towpath from Granary Wharf, offering distances from 10K to ultra marathon with regular feed stations and Trail Running Association licensing.

Trail runs of 10 km and 20 km take place at Beacon Fell Country Park on 7 March 2027 with chip timing and medals for finishers. Pre registration is required and there is a three hour cut off time.

A night-time trail 10k at Coombe Abbey Park that requires a head torch and features woodland, meadow and field terrain. Petzl demo torches are expected, drinks in biodegradable cups are provided and dogs are not permitted.

Hare Challenge is a running event at Coombe Abbey Park on 9 March 2027, organized by Big Bear Events. The listing shows a single entry price of £40 and an event page with an accompanying video.

Trail running at Leighton Hall in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape with a 10k and two half marathon formats. Courses use mainly hard packed trails with water stations, marshals, on site parking and no dogs allowed.

A 31.7 mile off road fell race around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge with about 1615 m of climb. It crosses remote moorland, requires FRA mandatory kit and navigation skills, and raises funds for local charities.

A 13.98 km fell race in Hayfield, Peak District, with 451 m of climb, held at Hayfield Primary School. Pre-entry and on-the-day entry are available; funds support the school and donations are made to Kinder Mountain Rescue.

A 21 mile running and walking challenge through the Peak District held each March. Entries usually open in November and often sell out, with places sometimes freed by cancellations. The 2027 event marks the 30th anniversary.

A trail running event near North Wingfield offering a Trail Marathon and a 20 mile race on an anti-clockwise course with mixed trail, fields and woodland, checkpoints with food and drinks, and finishers' medals.

Two Crosses is an East Lancashire LDWA challenge event scheduled for 14 March 2027. It is part of the group’s programme of LDWA challenge events, which are normally between 20 and 100 miles and have a defined time limit.
